There is still something unknown and incomprehensible on our planet, there are anomalous zones in almost all places on Earth. Scientists are still unable to explain the processes taking place there. There is such a place in China - Lake Poyang (Poyang), which has other names - "Chinese Bermuda Triangle" or "Bermuda Triangle of the East".
So Lake Poyan was named by analogy with the notorious Bermuda Triangle, which also periodically records cases of disappearances and deaths of ships and aircraft. The Bermuda Triangle of the East is located in the northern part of Lake Poyang, located in the Chinese province of Jiangxi (the largest freshwater lake in China). In the last few decades alone, more than two hundred boats have sunk here, more than two thousand people have disappeared without a trace, and thirty miraculously survived have lost their minds.
Not far from this anomalous zone, the Laoi temple was erected, therefore the waters of Lake Poyang in the anomaly zone are also often called "the waters of the Laoi temple." But the proximity of the temple does not save those sailing in these places from death. In August 1985 alone, 13 boats disappeared here, some of which were quite large. The cause of their death has not been established, and attempts to find them at the bottom were unsuccessful.
Residents of the coastal zone, next to the lake, are engaged in fishing. They say that before they go fishing, they closely monitor the surface of the water. In the process of fishing, they do the same. The fact is that a powerful storm can play out on the lake for several minutes (and sometimes even faster), which after a while also quickly ends, as if it did not begin. But this short period of time is enough to ruin someone's lives and boats.
Foreign ships are also listed among the dead. In April 1945, a Japanese boat with twenty sailors on board disappeared in the area of the East Bermuda Triangle. In search of the lost ship with people, the Japanese equipped an expedition. Several divers went down under the water, and they all died, only one submariner survived. When they pulled him ashore and took off his equipment, they saw that the man was in a state of extreme horror. After a short time, he lost his mind. The expedition continued to comb the bottom of the lake for several more weeks, but to no avail. During this period, several more people died - American submariners, who were also part of this expedition.
Another incredible incident happened in 1977. Not far from the Laoi temple, a dam was erected, which, in front of the amazed witnesses, almost silently went under the water.
The wind is also strange in these places. It blows here not in one definite direction, but in two. And for some reason, splashes on the surface do not spread in a straight line, but in the shape of the letter V.
But if at least something can be explained by the wind, then what could be the reason for the death of ships in absolutely calm weather? On March 5, 2010, in front of the abbot of the Laoi Temple, a thousand-ton yacht went under water (although it was completely calm), which was never found.

The Chinese are trying to explain everything that is happening with a legend, according to which in ancient times a terrible battle was fought near the lake. The enemy pushed the retreating side close to the water; they had no boats. It would seem that this is a terrible ending, but suddenly the waters of the lake parted, and a huge turtle swam out of there, which put the retreating ones on its back and rescued them by ferrying them to the other side. After this battle, the losing military leader became the emperor. He did not forget the savior turtle and erected the Laoi temple in her honor. And the spirit of an old turtle still lives in the waters of Lake Poyan.
People who do not really believe in legends put forward other theories to explain the tragedies taking place on the lake. Someone believes that what is happening is connected with some natural phenomena that have not yet been sufficiently studied. And someone connects everything with the influence of extraterrestrial intelligence or with the tricks of scary underwater monsters. There are many opinions, but everyone agrees that China's Poyang Lake is an anomalous zone, fraught with many unsolved mysteries.
