At about the same time, information about anomalous phenomena observed by representatives of various branches of the armed forces in the performance of their functional duties began to circulate in the system of the Armed Forces from time to time (through special channels). At one time I had a chance not only to keep in my hands messages about this, but also to carefully examine them in order to find the true causes of the appearance and some kind of temporary existence of this or that phenomenon.
Based on my personal experience, I can say with full confidence that 97 percent of the cases in which I took part were easily demonstrable atmospheric, electrical and optical phenomena, as well as the results of large-size missile launches.
However, about three percent of the observed phenomena really could not be explained by any laws of physics known to people. And then it was strictly not allowed to speak about it openly. Therefore, it is no coincidence that in our country the abbreviation UFO (unidentified flying objects) has been introduced quite easily.
Of all the cases, two were especially imprinted in my memory.
The first. In the late 70s, one of the ships of the Black Sea Fleet had to somehow look for the sunken secret torpedo of the Dolphin system, which for some reason did not stop giving signals. In this regard, even a representative of the special department of the brigade was on board the torpedo boat. And he, too, became an eyewitness to what other sailors saw and heard. The boat went into the required square and within one hour was at the target. The torpedo was barely visible from the water. The commander in the most cautious way brought the torpedoes to her. The sailors prepared without fuss to lift the desired cargo on board. But suddenly a huge "spaceship" in the form of a bell with a diameter of at least 15-20 meters descended from low clouds and hovered over the torpedo. And immediately, as if from under the heavens, a voice in the purest Russian language was heard: “We will not do anything bad to you. But you should all stay where you are. " Then a round platform descended from under the bottom of the alien, which slowly drew the torpedo to itself like a magnet. The acoustician tried to photograph what was happening. Yes, it was not so! From the central hatch of the aircraft, a bright red beam was instantly directed at him, from which the photographer immediately collapsed into a swoon. At the same time, an imperious, but still benevolent voice repeated: “Everyone, stay where you are. We will not do anything bad to you. " Following this, in the blink of an eye, the stranger, along with the torpedo, disappeared as suddenly as he had appeared. However, two hours later, it hovered over the deck of the boat. All the sailors, numb, watched his actions. The hatches of the "bell" were opened, and the torpedo slowly and gently lowered onto the deck of the torpedo. Another moment passed and it was as if nothing had happened. The aircraft disappeared completely suddenly.
After the sailors returned to the base, the special department, on pain of severe punishment, took a signature from the entire crew of the boat not to disclose what they saw. But you can't hide an sewn in a sack, and besides, this information, as expected, went through certain channels, to the information of which I was sometimes allowed. Then, of course, it was impossible to talk about it. Nowadays, many newspapers and magazines write about all sorts of anomalies and amazing, but still unsolved phenomena.
Second. On one of the spring days of 1979, a radar calculation of the Air Force Research Institute's test site witnessed how UFOs dived at their station throughout the night. First, a strange ridge-shaped mark appeared in a northwest direction at a distance of 350 kilometers. She looked so clear that there was no doubt about what created her powerful material object. However, on the next revolution of the sweep, the target disappeared. But when the operator leaned back in his chair with relief, he immediately noticed that the mark had not disappeared, but was rushing towards it on the same course at a breakneck speed and soon disappeared to the east. But instead, on the same course and at the same range, another one appeared, no less clear and bright. She covered the distance of 350 kilometers with the same speed and this time "camouflaged" somewhere directly over the heads of the radar crew. The targets then flew and flew with surprising consistency towards the center of the screen. When everyone had enough of admiring unknown objects on the screen and in the sky, the calculation officer pressed the button of the identification system. And what was the surprise of all those present, when a thin mark "ours" was imprinted next to the target stroke.

So, unidentified objects were visible simultaneously in two radio bands and optically. And this meant that they really existed. The speed of movement of unfamiliar vehicles, of course, was not prohibitive and amounted to 70 km / s, but there were so many of them themselves that no country in the world at that time would have had enough economic power to create such an air armada. The incident was reported to the duty officer, but he flatly refused to report it to the authority.
Only a year later, the order of the Chief of the Air Force General Staff appeared, obliging the combat and duty crews of all services of this service of the Armed Forces to record any anomalous phenomena. Since then, the receipt of information from the troops about "flying saucers" has become commonplace.
A few years later, representatives of official science, who studied hundreds of different cases of the appearance of mysterious UFOs, came to the conclusion that they are either an outright fake, or the result of massive hallucinations generated by reasons unknown to people.
