Altai contains a lot of mysteries, one of which is geoglyphs. This word is used to refer to images on the surface of the planet, which can only be viewed from space or from a bird's eye view, since they are incredibly large-scale. The origin and meaning of such formations-patterns are still incomprehensible. Some researchers believe that these may be traces from extraterrestrial or ancient aircraft. Others say that these drawings were left as a map of the area for those who arrived on our planet. It is also believed that these are religious artifacts left by ancient people.
The drawings found on the territory of Altai for a long time resemble geometric shapes or images of animals. Some of the geoglyphs are compared with rock carvings of prehistoric or mythical creatures. For example, one image, located on a rock, strongly resembles a griffin - a mythical bird with a human face. The drawings are separated from each other by clear straight lines, which scholars have compared to arrows and spears.
If you get closer to the geoglyph, you can see long trenches, carved in the rock or located in the open ground. The depth of the formations varies from 1 to 2 meters. They can be compared to some kind of communication systems (for example, used for watering), but because of the illogical location, they could not function.
The age of the drawings in Altai is also unknown. According to researchers, it can vary from one to five thousand years. Presumably the canals were made using some kind of digging tools. A person removed the top layer of soil or rock, under which a lighter layer was located. It is thanks to this that the patterns are clearly visible. But it is completely incomprehensible why they did not darken over the millennia of their existence.
Similar geoglyphs can be found in other parts of our planet. For example, they are also present in Malta and on the Peruvian Nazca plateau. The main mystery of the buildings is that scientists cannot understand the purpose of their manufacture. Ancient man, in their opinion, did not have any flying means. Thus, he could not see the hollowed-out patterns. Why build something that is then impossible to see or use?
Legends associated with Altai say that this area is the center of human development and will survive in any cataclysm, even after Armageddon.
