The current review is based on prohibited information, therefore we are not allowed to publish the geographical name, coordinates or documentary photographs of this place. Otherwise, we could be shut down for aiding biological terrorism. But despite the fact that we are shackled hand and foot in our classic format, we risk making a review that does not violate the legislation of the Russian Federation.

The lake of death (conventional name) is lost in the wilderness among the vast mountains of southern Russia. An unremarkable tiny reservoir in 1 year claimed the lives of several hundred living creatures.

It all started with the fact that the grazing animals returning from the side of the lake began to alarm the local settlers with their behavior. People did not need a medical education to understand that excessive fearfulness, profuse salivation, and unreasonable aggression were not the norm. Moreover, all animals, after a few days of strange behavior, died. People, frightened of the epidemic of rabies, notified the dispatch service, which in turn transmitted the information to the sanitary and epidemiological supervision.

A sample was taken from the lake, confirming the presence of strange living organisms in the water. The contaminated reservoir posed a real threat and the inhabitants of a small village that was located a few kilometers from it, it was decided to temporarily relocate them further away.

But the secret of the Lake of Death lay within him. Corroded chemical drums found on the muddy bottom indicated illegal dumping of technical waste. If they were disposed of properly, then there would be no mutation of microorganisms, or correspondingly infected ones at all. The search for possible violators who polluted the environment did not bring any result - not a single plant or enterprise was found in the district. The stalled investigation has suspicions of biological terrorism.

The virus, unknown to science, looked very much like rabies, but it was not - infection through saliva did not occur. Samples of microorganisms were examined in laboratories, the place itself was repeatedly examined by specialists, but the problem required a more detailed study. All attempts to disinfect the reservoir failed and in order to avoid an epidemic, the territory around the lake was cordoned off.

At the moment, no one is allowed to approach the Lake of Death within a radius of 5 km and these are not just words. At the popular forum of climbers, there were already outraged exclamations that their usual route was violated by the military, who insistently "asked" them to change the direction of movement.

What mysterious contents were in the barrels and where did they come from? Will microorganisms be able to reach residential settlements through groundwater? Are wild animals and birds capable of leaving the protected area a viral threat? The answers to these questions lie behind seven locks.
