Lesnoy, noted: “To talk about paganism, even to remember it, was considered a sin, and meanwhile there was nothing in the religion of the ancient Rus that we could be ashamed of”. Paganism became only an offshoot of Slavic Vedicism. The Russians themselves did not call themselves pagans, they applied such a term to peoples who departed from the most ancient knowledge (more often due to territorial displacement), tried to preserve them, but after the lapse of time and changes in space, they were still refracted. The Russians believed: whoever speaks not in their ancient language is a pagan. The Russians called themselves Orthodox, Orthodox, that is, glorifying the light, the truth, knowing the laws, keeping them. Who exactly was glorified in the blessed territory of Russia? The image and all household items were imbued with the service of man in the name of light. Remember how the Rus-Slavs called the first room in their mansions - "svetlitsa", the place for ritual ceremonies was called "luminaries", the princes were called light, many names in Russia have the root "light": Svetoslav, Belosvet, Velesvet, Svetobor and others.
Through love and bright deeds, nature endowed with knowledge. Our ancestors had a very developed intuition, a presentiment, that is, they had a sixth sense - a subtle feeling. In this state, they were given to learn a lot. They accurately identified and saw evil and good, everything was clear in nature and in man, and therefore shone with beauty and joy. He gave himself up to life, absorbing cosmic sounds, forms, color, and from this material he weaved his life.
A feature of the Vedic worldview was its cosmogony, all life was permeated with a sense of the Cosmos. The Slavs knew and felt the influence of cosmic rhythms on our life and tried to be in harmony with them. Therefore, their main holidays were dedicated to the light, the sun, the rebirth of nature. Great holidays are the holidays of the sun on the days of its winter and summer solstice and the spring and autumn equinox.
Hymns-songs to the gods at that time were called praise. With requests to the gods were rarely addressed, they believed that the gods should be thanked. The sacrifice to the gods was brought in the form of a drink, and it was called Soma (for herbal composition). Soma juice was extracted from sacred plants. Soma - the symbol of the sun - through the combination of the sun and seeds, life appears - a plant. The Soma drinker not only healed, but also gained fresh strength.
The ancestors knew about the Moon and the Sun, had concepts of light and darkness, positive and negative, warm and cold, feminine and masculine. And these laws, again, shaped the mindset and lifestyle.

Moisture, water were symbols of the feminine principle. The celebration of water and the spring goddesses born from it was given to women. Summer mermaids (mermaids in ancient times were considered to be coastal and therefore so often found in woodcarving) were women's holidays.
Fire and water healed, purified, protected, gave the primary sources of life on Earth. In no way can one blame our ancestors for the savagery and ignorance, and because they knew the structure of the cosmos. The "Russian Vedas" tell about the birth of light, gods and earth. Symbols of the Universe - labyrinths and spirals - are found on all continents. There are especially many such drawings in Russia in the North. Spiral ornament and round dances are popular in Russia.

The entire religious order of the Slavs was deeply poetic, based on the understanding of God as Father and Friend, the source of beauty, of all perfection. On the other hand, by nature we feel that we are pagans, although we have long been considered Orthodox. We have always been Orthodox.

Love serves the Earth as a GUIDE THREAD, and with its help it moves forward in evolution.
