Temehea Tohua is a place located on the small island of Nuku Hiva in French Polynesia in the South Pacific Ocean. It was here that strange statues of bizarre creatures were found, the appearance of which in the mass consciousness is associated with aliens.
The statues of the mysterious "reptilians" date back to the X-XI centuries. The creatures depicted are distinguished by disproportionate torsos, as well as oblong heads with wide mouths and huge eyes. The expressions on the faces of many of the statues are rather inhospitable.
It is not known what inspired the ancient people to create such unusual stone figures: alien guests or mysterious priests? Scientific realists consider the alien version to be absurd, since tribal elders often used ritual masks.
But supporters of the opposite theory have questions to which no one has yet answered: why did archaeologists not manage to find fragments of masks and why was it necessary to depict the priests in such a large number? The mystery of this place is another blank spot in history and there is hardly an answer to it.
