In January 1929, a new expressway was opened between the German cities of Bremen and Bremerhaven. In a very short time, the road acquired the reputation of being “strange”. It became the site of numerous accidents that sometimes could not be explained.
In just one year after the opening of the new highway, more than a hundred cars have crashed there. All the tragedies took place in the same "bad place" - near a road sign that read: "239th kilometer".
Few drivers who survived car accidents told perplexed police officers that at the entrance to this road sign, they suddenly began to feel like someone's unknown hand was driving the car. Only on one day - September 7, 1930 - nine cars turned over at once near the ill-fated sign!
The road was completely dry. There was nothing to explain what had happened on her on that quiet, fine day. Inevitably, you will become superstitious here and think three times before driving along the road where an invisible evil force has settled.
At the insistence of extremely anxious drivers, who were using this road for purely everyday needs, the road sign "239th kilometer" was removed from the side of the highway. Then a local priest was invited to the “bad place”. He sprayed the road with holy water …
To the great surprise of the police, the constant car accidents on this section of the road stopped immediately. They were cut off there like a knife!
The English doctor of philosophy and exorcist D. Omand put forward the hypothesis that a certain place on the road may become unhappy due to the fact that the power of evil is concentrated on it. In 1960, he published a book in which he provided a number of evidence to explain road accidents of this kind.
According to his theory, some demonic forces have the ability to take power over the driver, forcing him to deliberately turn into the oncoming lane - right under the wheels of oncoming vehicles.

D. Omand gives in his book, among others, an example. The woman told him about the driver who got into a car accident and died in her arms. According to the driver, he suddenly felt a completely inexplicable urge to turn the car towards an oncoming truck. The truck driver, who, fortunately, only got off with bruises, said something similar to the police.
“Someone from above,” he said, “ordered me to crash into an oncoming car.
D. Omand became interested in such messages from the drivers. He studied more than a hundred cases of road accidents, visiting city hospitals, talking with victims, and studying police interview protocols. In his book, he writes that many drivers felt as if unknown forces were forcing them to direct the car towards their own death. D. Omand explains all these cases by the infiltration of evil spirits into people.
The point of view of D. Omanda was repeatedly ridiculed by scientists, but none of them could explain why more accidents occur in one place on the road, and much less in another.
Here is another example of a "bad spot" on a new, newly constructed, short road near the English town of Davon.
The road was opened for traffic in 1921. A couple of days later, Mr. Helby, a doctor from a nearby prison, fell on his motorcycle on that very short road and broke his neck. A couple of weeks later, in the same place, a small bus fell off the side of the road, and seven of its passengers were killed. The bus driver stayed alive.

“I suddenly lost control of the controls, as if invisible hands had taken over the steering wheel!
A month later, a motorcycle driver, a young officer, experienced the same feeling on this stretch of the road. He miraculously survived. In response to questioning by the police, the officer said:
- I saw quite clearly how another pair of hands in black leather gloves grabbed the wheel of the motorcycle. And I felt that I could not control the motorcycle and it flies to the side of the road.
