AIDS, which used to be called the "plague of the 20th century," remains one of the most dangerous and little-studied diseases in the 21st century. That is, they study it a lot, but there are still not enough reliable facts about this disease. One of the most mysterious topics is the actual origin of the disease.
Some researchers suggest that people received HIV "as a gift" from our smaller brothers, chimpanzees. Others believe that the disease was artificially created in secret laboratories, while others completely deny the existence of AIDS. Here are some of the most popular theories about the origin of this disease.
Errors in the development of medicine
It is believed that AIDS was first discovered in 1981 at the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (USA). Then, about 30 men with similar symptoms were examined. Everyone, as one, was homosexual, which is why the new disease was soon dubbed "gay-related immunodeficiency."
A couple of years later, a new disease was diagnosed in Europe. The sick turned out to be not only homosexual men, but also women, as well as elderly people who have long forgotten about an active sex life. This gave impetus to further study of the disease and the isolation of the retro virus HIV, which is transmitted through blood, and not only through sexual contact.
Simultaneously with a close study of the disease that had come from nowhere, the number of those infected with it began to grow at a catastrophic rate. It was then that the doctors began to think about where she could come from at all.

Monkeys are HIV carriers
All subsequent years, scientists were carefully looking for sources of infection. Some gorillas and chimpanzees in West Africa have been found to have a retro virus similar to human HIV. Presumably, the first transmission of the virus occurred in 1926-1930. The first deaths from AIDS were recorded later, in the 60s of the XX century.
The fact that African residents could somehow contact the monkeys was understandable. But how this virus ended up in the blood of Europeans and Americans, many of whom rarely visited zoos, remained a mystery for a long time. The situation became clearer when a link was discovered between the spread of HIV and the popular experiments at the beginning of the 20th century on transplanting monkey glands to humans.
A number of scientists (among them a French surgeon with Russian roots, Voronov S. A.) in the 1920s and 1930s practiced transplantation of testicles and thyroid glands of chimpanzees to humans. Experiments like this were very popular at the time. They were aimed at both general rejuvenation of the body and restoration of sexual function in men suffering from impotence. These experiences could have caused the spread of AIDS in developed countries.
AIDS is an artificially created biological weapon
According to another theory, HIV was created artificially with the aim of destroying a significant number of the world's population. The reason for this opinion was the fact that the human retro-virus HIV is a modified (!) Variant of the simian immunodeficiency virus SIV.
In order to settle in the human body, the chimpanzee and gorilla virus had to somehow adapt to new conditions, that is, mutate. Whether this could have happened in the process of natural factors or a new, dangerous mutation for humans was created artificially, it is not yet completely clear. Dr. Alan Cantwell discusses this topic in his book "AIDS and Doctors of Death".
He develops the following idea in the book: US scientists have created a modified human immunodeficiency virus using genetic material from monkeys. A "new biological weapon" was created in secret laboratories of the military department. They brought HIV to a person under the guise of hepatitis B vaccinations. This theory has many followers, including very respected people, even Nobel Prize winners.
AIDS does not exist
The opinion that AIDS does not exist at all is supported and actively promoted by supporters of the AIDS / HIV Denial Movement (HIV dissidents). They claim that AIDS is a contrived disease. It covers up the true causes of high mortality in disadvantaged regions and the poorest segments of the population, such as hunger, lack of normal medical care, etc.
One of the reasons for HIV dissidents is that the typical clinical picture of AIDS is a complex of various diseases: pneumonia, Kaposi's sarcoma, subacute encephalitis, etc. Each of these diseases individually provokes a weakening of the body's defenses.
HIV dissidents also argue that HIV is a safe retro virus and, in general, its connection with the disease called AIDS has not been proven beyond dispute. This idea is supported by biology professor Peter Duesberg, chemist, Nobel laureate Carey Mullis and several other scientists. Official medicine casts doubt on all their arguments, since the designated persons are not specialists in virology. The debate about the origin of AIDS, meanwhile, continues.
