Video: How Can Water Be Turned Into Fuel? 2024, May

At the California Institute of Technology, together with scientists from the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, they learned how to make fuel from water. Over 2 years of work, the number of materials that can be used for this in solar fuel cells has almost doubled.

Over 40 years, 40 such materials were found, and scientists in just 2 years found 12 more. If they manage to create a universal process for splitting water, then hydrogen-based fuel cells could become the main option in the development of commercial fuel energy. The problem lies in the rapid destruction of molecules, which makes it impossible to create the required number of fuel cells.

Such processes can be successfully used to create fuel that will replace the traditionally used by mankind (coal, oil, gas, etc.). And hydrogen fuel, created from water, will be used everywhere.

Such phenomenal results became possible thanks to the systematization and computerization of scientific research. Supercomputers and automation of experiments allow you to do a huge amount of work in a short period of time.
