On October 10, 2014, a 48-year-old man came to the investigation department of the city of Miass, Chelyabinsk region. He confessed to the murder, which he committed more than a year ago. The reason he came to the police station surprised even seasoned investigators.
Arseny Nikolayevich RYBAKOV lived quietly, in solitude. By the age of 48, he had neither family nor children. With constant work, too, somehow did not grow together. He earned his living with his only skill - at home he repaired tube televisions and radios. There were not many clients - mostly those who still had old "boxes" with bulging blue screens on the farm. However, the money earned for living was enough. The TV master, of course, drank, but, so to speak, "culturally", behind closed doors - did not make noise, did not arrange drunken fights, did not attract too much attention to himself. At least the neighbors did not complain about him.
In July 2013, he repaired a TV set for one city dweller, Gennady PETROV. He did the job well and quickly. And take the unit and break it down in a week. A 38-year-old client came to a TV technician with complaints.
Their conversation did not go well. As the foreman assured the investigators, Petrov was drunk and from the doorway began to insult him. According to Rybakov, the client was the first to get into a fight. He supposedly only defended himself. A screwdriver came under his arm, which he stuck in the neck of his abuser. The instrument punctured the artery. Gennady fell down dead.
Determining now who actually started the fight is not easy. There were no witnesses. And the Miass investigators consider the version of Arseny Nikolaevich: “I am not guilty, he came himself”, - the Miass investigators consider it on an equal basis with others.
Rybakov went up to the man lying on the floor and bleeding, moved his hand, but he did not react. And when the TV master realized that Gennady was dead, he was dumbfounded. The first thought was to call the police, but the fear that they would not believe in the self-defense version turned out to be stronger than common sense. Spending the rest of his days on prison bunks was not part of his plans.
As Rybakov told the investigators, he drove away from himself thoughts of a frank confession and began to think how to cover up his tracks. There was nothing to carry the body of the murdered man somewhere, to drag it in his arms was also not an option: passers-by would see it. I decided to hide it in my garden.

Locked the gates and doors as if he was not at home. I wrapped the body in a plastic bag and waited for the night. As it got dark, I dug a hole in the backyard by the fence, dragged the body bag into it and buried it. He carefully leveled the ground from above and forced this place with all sorts of rubbish so that the fresh grave would not be conspicuous.
In the house he washed the blood from the floor and walls, hid the ill-fated screwdriver. In a word, Arseny Nikolayevich managed to hide the crime. But erasing the murder from your own memory turned out to be much more difficult.
From that moment on, the already hard life of a TV master turned into a real hell. For some time, the man was afraid that the neighbors saw him hiding the corpse, and waited that the police were about to come to his house. He shuddered at every rustle and did not leave the house for several days. But the worst thing happened at night.
As Rybakov told investigators, nightmares and different visions began to haunt him. The murdered man came to him again and again in his dreams: he demanded that the TV be repaired, then he asked to repent, then he simply stood next to the bed with a screwdriver sticking out of his neck and watched in silence. Sometimes the TV master seemed to see in reality how Gennady Petrov was walking in the garden and calling him with
yourself. The crime never left his head. The walls of his own house were reminded of the deed every minute. Sometimes it seemed to him that he was going crazy. This went on for almost six months.
In order not to completely lose his mind, Rybakov decided to sell the house. He didn't even care that the new tenants would ever find the grave. Realtors bought the dwelling practically for a song. The money received for a new house was not enough, and the TV master joined the army of Miass homeless people. Day after day Arseny Nikolayevich spent in alcoholic unconsciousness. For almost six months he wandered the streets. But he could not get rid of remorse and nightmares.
On October 10, 2014, a man came to the police department of the city of Miass, Chelyabinsk region and told the duty officer that he could no longer live with a heavy load on his soul and wrote a confession. The operatives drove to the indicated address and indeed found in the garden a grave a year ago, and in it human remains.
According to Anatoly SELIVERSTOV, head of the Miass Investigation Department of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Chelyabinsk Region, such conscientious criminals are very rare, but it is too early to draw conclusions about self-defense. So far, the testimony of the telemaster coincides with the preliminary conclusions of the investigation. However, the final results and the picture of what happened will be clear after all the necessary examinations have been carried out.
“The murdered man was born in 1975. All this time he was on the wanted list as missing. Relatives thought that he committed suicide, because on the eve of his disappearance, his 16-year-old son died from an electric shock. And he was very worried about his death,”Anatoly Seliverstov told the correspondent.
