Anshu Kumar, a 21-year-old Indian, suffers from some obscure congenital condition that makes the top of his head look bloated and his eye sockets wide apart. Doctors cannot diagnose him, and locals have long called him an alien.

Anshu also has problems with growth, at his age he is no taller than a 10-year-old boy, and the hair on his head simply does not grow, with the exception of one liquid strand.

He is believed to have a very rare Jacobsen syndrome, in which part of chromosome 11 is missing. Jacobsen's syndrome was described in 1973 and since then only just over 200 cases have been reported in the medical literature. The syndrome is mysterious and scientists do not yet know what is its cause, it is assumed a spontaneous mutation.

Many children with Jacobsen's syndrome, in addition to stunted growth and difficulties in mastering skills, have distinctive facial features: deformities of the skull, a high convex forehead, facial asymmetries, a wide nasal bridge, wide-set eyes (hypertelorism), squint.

Kumar is listed as a laborer and earns very little to get tested and buy medicine. But he really wants to "become normal" and get married. Now, due to his ugliness, not a single girl looks at him and Kumar is very upset about this.

“People have always treated me with prejudice, and after seeing a fantastic movie, many began to call me an alien. Every time I return home from work or go to work, I am accompanied by frightened looks. People prefer to stay away from me. I may not notice them, but I cannot close my ears all the time and not hear their words."

Kumar's father, 46-year-old Kamlesh, says that his son was not born like everyone else and they took the baby to the doctor, but he could not make a diagnosis. After that, the parents made several more attempts, but now all hopes for Kumar's recovery are practically lost.

Anshu Kumar himself hopes that with the help of journalists his story will become known to a large number of people and they will help him get an examination by a doctor and give money for treatment.
