Nick Redfern, of the mysteriousuniverse.org paranormal website, in his new article spoke about the channels of the city of Birmingham (UK). According to Nick, it grew up near Birmingham and is a large and modern city, but there are many more places in its historical part that have not changed much since the Middle Ages, when Birmingham was famous as a trading city. The heart of Birmingham's waterway system is the Gas Street Basin, a popular attraction in the city. But the most interesting thing is not the bay itself, but those creatures or creatures that live in it.

After researching reports of the giant eel over the years, Nick collected nine separate stories of encounters with this creature, of which only one incident occurred in Gas Street Baysen, and all the rest were from other canals of the city, some of which were 3 miles away. apart. Nick especially remembered a case that came from employees of a locksmith company serving one of the sections of Birmingham's canals. It happened in the late 1980s and the workers were on a lunch break. They stood by the canal and tossed slices of bread from their sandwiches to the ducks floating in the water.
And suddenly they froze with fear when they saw a large creature floating in the water, similar to an eel, but much larger in length and proportions. And this creature was clearly targeting the ducks, which were busy devouring bread.
Fortunately, everything worked out, the eel-like creature did not attack the birds, but swam further and after a couple of minutes disappeared into the waters of the canal.
Another observation occurred in the very late 1979 or early 1980 and was noted in a channel near Rotten Park Road. This place is also notable for the fact that in 2003 a 4.5-meter-long dead python was found in the water here, and the Royal Animal Rescue Service has been dealing with this case of cruelty to a reptile for a long time afterwards.

Even more disturbing, the sightings of a huge eel in Birmingham's canals coincide with the mysterious disappearances of a number of domestic animals, including cats and rabbits.
At the end of his message, Nick concludes that an abnormally large eel or several eels are likely to live in the waters of Birmingham. And this is in the very center of a large developed modern city. Hundreds of thousands of local residents pass these canals every day and do not realize that the monsters "live literally outside the doorstep of their homes."
