Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences from the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences Leonid Ksanfomality told the details of the unique discovery made by scientists during the processing of photographs taken from the surface of Venus.

The Soviet spacecraft Venera-9 and Venera-13 visited the planet in the 1970s and 1980s, but only in the 2000s did the processing of images begin.

According to Ksanfomality, earlier technical capabilities did not allow to start studying photographs. In 2012, scientists discovered strange objects in the images. They were present in some photographs and absent from others.

The first suspicion of the researchers was that the mysterious objects in the photographs were pieces of the apparatus falling apart from the aggressive atmosphere.

However, instead of the calculated 30 minutes of operation, the device worked for two hours, after which the thought of damage had to be discarded. The following images sent from the surface of Venus allowed Russian scientists to make unexpected discoveries.

This strange creature has received the nickname "owl", as it looks like a bird

“Now 11 objects have been discovered in the panoramas, some of which can be attributed to plants and flora. It turned out to be strange stems with four leaves at the base, and some at the top - sort of like a bud that has opened. So far, we are talking about this rather carefully.

So far, hypothetically, it can be argued that the objects that we see in these images are most likely signs of life on Venus,”Leonid Ksanfomality told Zvezda TV channel.

Earlier today it became known that the Soviet spacecraft "Venera-9" and "Venera-13" in the 70-80s made unique shots that can serve as proof that there is life on Venus. 30 years later, they were declassified by the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

But the most important find was an object that scientists called a "scorpion." He outwardly reminded this arachnid. The "scorpion" casts a shadow in the image, which indicates the reality of the object. Curiously, the object looks different in all images.

In the first frame, only a shallow 10-centimeter groove is visible, in the second, its length increases by 5 cm. In the third image, the structure of the object resembling a scorpion is clearly visible. Then it is completely removed from the soil layer. In the last frames, the object disappears.

The main sensation from Venus was the image of the creature, nicknamed "Scorpio"
