Groans and sighs spread throughout Russia. It is the people who complain about the deputies. But how not to complain if for the most part these are worthless and meaningless butts, whose whole function is to press buttons when approving laws developed in the bowels of the presidential and government apparatus.
This is in the State Duma. And there is also a huge army of local deputies who are no better.
What kind of attack is this? Is it really impossible to recruit several tens of thousands of worthy representatives out of 145 million Russians?
Of course you can! But why then they are not recruited in any way?
It's all about who picks them up!
And they are recruited by anyone: central and local executive authorities, local business clans and organized crime groups … In general, those who want to solve some of their own, sometimes very dark, affairs through different thoughts, councils and legislative assemblies. Where can decent deputies come from then?
What is the real essence of being a deputy? To represent the interests of voters. But our deputies already initially go to power to represent those who nominated them.
And you, good citizens, did you nominate them? Participated in their search and selection? Organized into initiative groups to nominate them?

So why are you complaining and whining then? Did they really expect bad uncles to work in your favor instead of you?
Electoral democracy is not just about coming to a polling station every few years and voting for whom God knows. Elections mean showing civic engagement at all stages of this process.
Yes, we do not know how to do this, we are not ready for this psychologically, because we have never done this. Well, so it is necessary to do - and not to complain fruitlessly about the bad government! Where is she good? Only where the citizens themselves shake it like a pear, beating the whole soul out of it!
We must understand the main thing. If we ourselves do not begin to engage in politics at all stages of the elections, no one will do it for us. Everyone will do everything just for themselves. And there is no one to blame for this! For no one is obliged to look for decent deputies for us. We will always find those who will do everything in the interests of the one who found them and nominated them.
So if you want good deputies, look for and nurture them yourself.
