Scientific and technical progress, especially in the new century, has gained such a pace that there are almost no “blank spots” and mysterious places in various fields of knowledge. This is especially true of geography and the study of the surrounding world - the planet was fully explored many decades ago.
No matter how paradoxical it may be, despite all the achievements of mankind, mysterious places and objects remain in the world, around which there is still debate about their origin. Most of these places are covered with legends and secrets, some give rise to superstitions and fears, but the main thing is that it is really worth learning about the most mysterious places on Earth. This mysterious place is a megalithic tomb, created simultaneously from stone, clay and earth. The tomb was created, according to presumably, 4 thousand years ago, so that Newgrange is older than Stonehenge and the pyramids of Egypt. The mysteriousness of the mound lies in its unique design. Newgrange, despite its venerable age, is still completely sealed and waterproof. Another mystery of the tomb is the role of the Sun in the beliefs of the architects of Newgrange. The fact is that on December 21 (the day of the winter solstice), the luminary directs its rays directly through a small hole into the tomb. Questions related to the construction and sacred meaning of the Sun in the mound system still face researchers. At the moment, in the national park, which also includes the mysterious place Newgrange,excavations and scientific work are carried out.

Geoglyphs on the Nazca plateau, Peru
Few have not heard of the famous lines on earth located in South America, on the Nazca plateau, one of the most mysterious places. They are gigantic images (meaningful or ordinary patterns), ranging in size from several tens to hundreds of meters, created by removing the topsoil. At the moment, scientists have calculated the number of geoglyphs created - drawings of animals and plants there are about 30, simple lines and patterns - more than 13 thousand, and geometric figures - 700. The authors of the patterns of the mysterious place (local aborigines) and the date of creation (middle of the first millennium before ad). However, the researchers did not find out the main thing, that is, the purpose of creating a mysterious place for geoglyphs.
The riddle of the Nazca plateau has several answers:

Monuments, of which 394 out of 887 now remain, have been found all over Easter Island,although they were created in one place. The most likely way to move the huge idols appears to be a system of skating rinks and sleds made of wood (which is also confirmed by the virtual absence of forests on the mysterious island).
Great Sphinx, Giza, Egypt
It makes no sense to talk about the mysterious pyramids of Giza and Egypt in general, since numerous studies have left little room for mystery. But about the Sphinx, guarding Khafra's pyramid in Giza, is still controversial. The statue in this mysterious place was carved from a single rock, presumably in 2500 BC. With the aim of the Sphinx, the researchers decided - this is a purely symbolic structure, which is designed to protect the neighboring religious buildings. However, scientists cannot accurately name the author, the method and date of creation. The official version is the authorship of Pharaoh Khafra, the one who rests in the neighboring pyramid. But the latest data from water erosion analysis indicate that the statue is older. In this case, the designers of the Sphinx are not the Egyptians, but their mysterious predecessors.
Stonehenge, Wiltshire, England
The most famous megalith of our time does not reveal its secrets even after many years of study. The mysterious place of Stonehenge is a collection of large stone blocks several meters high, located vertically and horizontally and forming a circle. The general plan of the building looks like an open top and limited on the sides space with an entrance. The enigmatic concentric outer circle consists of 56 burial holes. Now scientists are continuing research related to the authors of the design, the purpose of creation, the date and method of construction. Using the radiocarbon method, it was established that the original structure was erected at the junction of the 4th and 3rd millennia BC. Stonehenge was completed in 2100 BC.
