In the history of almost any nation, there are legends associated with elms. Suffice it to recall the popular horror movie "A Nightmare on Elm Street" or the legendary Elm of the Maid Mode in Scotland, on which she hanged herself. But we also have many stories connected with elms. And one of them is still alive.
Moreover, it is enough to go to Kuzminsky Park to touch the past and become the honor of legends. Only it is not at all necessary to end everything sadly.
Kuzminsky forest park is generally considered one of the most mystical places in Moscow. Moreover, some call it "dark", while others, on the contrary, call it a bright place of power. Indeed, a lot of anomalous things are happening here, which are difficult to interpret unambiguously … In Kuzminsky Park, on the banks of one of the three ponds, a suicide elm grows.
They say that at least twenty people hanged themselves on it in half a century. The tree has long celebrated its 100th anniversary and has acquired the nickname "bitches of death." Rumor has it that the tree is cursed and magically attracts people to itself.
The legend about him is as follows. As if some witch lived in these places in time immemorial. She fell in love, but did not achieve reciprocity, since he loved another girl. The lovers met just under the same elm. And then the witch cursed the tree …
And also, according to legend, in the twenties of the last century, in the southeastern part of the park, a military training ground was set up for burying chemical waste taken from factories for the production of toxic substances. Some of this chemical waste was later recovered, but the lion's share, according to local residents, still continues to decompose. Most of the park is occupied by the 300-year-old Kuzminki estate - the former residence of the Golitsyn princes.

- On the territory of the forest park there could once have been a temple of the ancient Slavic Chernobog. Perhaps human sacrifices were performed here. When I was still a schoolboy, we ran here and carried out amateur excavations. Sometimes fragments of ancient pottery were found, or even human bones.
Some Slavic tribes had a tradition to kill old people, who became weak and turned into a burden for their relatives. Then they turned to the blacksmiths. Namely, blacksmiths have lived here for a long time. The blacksmiths went up the hill with the old men, smashed their heads with a heavy hammer, and threw their bodies into the ravine. It was probably also a ritual of sacrifice.
