The 60-year-old Dutch carpenter, with the help of colleagues, relatives, friends and outside enthusiasts, spent three years building an exact (according to the Bible) copy of the legendary Noah's ark, which once allowed the Old Testament patriarch to save "every creature in pairs" during the Flood, thereby saving biological diversity on the planet.

Johan Huberts spent more than $ 2 million on his unusual hobby, but the unusual boat launched onto the lake has already paid off, becoming a popular tourist attraction.

The huge floating complex has the dimensions of a 5-storey building. Its length is 123 meters, width - 29 meters, height - 23 meters. Exactly 300, 50 and 30 cubits respectively - as stated in Scripture. The displacement of the ark is 3 tons. At the height of the tourist season, the brainchild of a talented carpenter welcomes about 4,000 vacationers every day. There is a large-screen cinema and a relatively inexpensive restaurant to keep travelers busy.

The main purpose of the ark is to escape the flood

Interestingly, Huberts was inspired by his nightmares to build this amazing ship. Several years ago, it was raining in the Netherlands for a long time, and Johan began to dream that his homeland was completely flooded with water. As you know, the Land of Tulips has been struggling with floods for centuries. If it were not for the coastal fences, the territory of the European state would have been flooded by 70 percent long ago. In 1953, the villages of Karelle and Schuring sank here.

In order to regain his peace of mind, Huberts carefully read the Book of Genesis and drew up the drawings of the ship that most closely matched the Noah's ark described in the Bible. According to the carpenter, there is a supply of fresh water and provisions on board just in case, which will last for a small group of people for 3-4 years. The ship can, if desired, be sent to the sea or ocean, therefore, if suddenly a new Flood really comes, Johan and his family may well stay alive.

The wooden hulk can be seen for many kilometers. Plastic and rubber giraffes, elephants, crocodiles, hippos, cows, kangaroos and other animals look out from its windows. It is too expensive to buy real animals, so in the event of a global flood, the carpenter will only be able to save his many pets: cats, dogs, rabbits, parrots, pigeons (someone has to bring an oil leaf in his beak, notifying people of the end of the flood).

The Dutchman's ark has already sailed several tens of kilometers and has been certified for travel across the Atlantic. But until the global cataclysm occurs, the ship will continue to play the role of a museum and entertainment complex.
