The highway leading from the Mexican city of Merida, the largest city on the Yucatan Peninsula, built in 1542 by the Spanish colonialists on the ruins of the Mayan city, to the city of Tishkokob, is truly a hotspot where UFOs have been repeatedly sighted.
For example, on December 22, 2016, transport workers involved in the construction of the highway reported an unusual object that crossed the road right in front of them when they were returning home on their bicycles after a work shift.
“It was already dark, we drove a few kilometers after Villa de Oriente, when something like a UFO or a spaceship, shining with a powerful blue light, crossed the road right in front of us,” said one of the eyewitnesses. - The UFO flew over them at a height of about 20 meters. He was so close that we couldn't go wrong. My companion even stopped to examine him closely. The ship was moving completely silently."
It is worth noting that, despite the fact that the workers saw this object just one kilometer from the village, no additional information was provided about it.
“We are sure it was a UFO. The time was about nine o'clock in the evening. The light was very bright. The object looked like a sphere and made erratic movements. Then he suddenly took off very quickly and disappeared. I think he went up, - added a local resident in conclusion.
A mysterious incident also happened to the seller Carlos Beniteso Novelo, who drives the highway between Meride and Tishkokob every day to nearby settlements.
“I left my house in Merida very early, on the way I decided to drive through the village. Crossing the railroad tracks, I saw an object that was flying at a height of about five meters, - said Carlos. “It was a black, round object, shaped like a spaceship. It was metallic and didn't glow very brightly with yellow lights that looked like sunlight."
“I slowed down, but did not stop, and then suddenly I realized that he was moving next to me at the same speed. I was shocked, it happened in a matter of seconds. And then out of the corner of my eye, I saw it fly up and disappear into the sky. That's when I stopped and calmed down. Then he looked where he flew away, but did not see him any more.

Such stories have become commonplace in recent years. All eyewitnesses tell the same thing: the UFO flew at high speed and at a short distance from the road. However, the reason for these mysterious phenomena remains unknown.
