Employees of the Moscow Research Center for Cell Technologies of the Institute of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetology, together with their colleagues from the Research Institute of Pediatric Surgery and scientists of the Vishnevsky Institute of Surgery, learned how to grow living cells for the treatment of burns and injuries. Domestic doctors were the first in the world to make a breakthrough in this area and create artificial cells of the human body in the laboratory.

Scientists around the world have been trying for many years to create artificial cells and cellular structures, but until recently all such elements were created using a large amount of organic matter, or the resulting structures turned out to be extremely unviable.

Russian scientists have not yet revealed the secret of their technology, but they have already conducted tests on the basis of Clinical Hospital No. 9 in Moscow. They used their technology to treat burns and several other types of injuries. By the way, artificial cells do not elicit a response from the immune system.

At the moment, a group of physicians is making every effort to introduce new cell technologies into widespread medical practice, and is also working to create a legal framework that could regulate the activities of banks of artificial human cells, because this is the first time this occurs not only in Russia, but also in world practice. …

The introduction of new technology will improve the quality of medical care that is provided to victims of fires and explosions. It will be possible to grow artificial cells for future use in order to create an operational bank for emergency skin grafts for victims.
