Special courses for exorcists have opened at the Regina Apostolorum Pontifical University. This was required as the demand for exorcism is growing every day. Official information about the start of the training of exorcists appeared on the pages of the main publication of the Vatican, Vatican News.
The first introductory lecture course (only 6 days long) will start in April. It will be conducted by the Sicilian exorcist and Benigno Palilla, who constantly teaches similar courses in Palermo, moreover, he has a special permission from the Pope himself.
The Sicilian believes that more and more exorcists are needed in Italy every year. In the Vatican alone, 500 thousand ceremonies to drive out the devil take place every year.
The official recognition of exorcism by the Vatican took place back in 2014. Church authorities not only recognized the existence of the International Association for Exorcism, but also took its leadership under its wing. In total, the organization consists of approximately 400 professional exorcists.
