The phenomenon of obsession for a long time remained only under the jurisdiction of church circles, but then it nevertheless got into the international classifiers of mental illness. Some cases of obsession and exorcisms have become almost worldwide known, as was the case, for example, in the case of the tragic death of Annelise Michel.

Recently it became known about a similar mysterious incident in Lublin, the details of which Polish journalists tried to unearth.

Lublin. Mental illness, drugs or obsession. One of the witnesses talks about shouting and throwing objects. The ambulance reported that they had to send additional vehicles to the scene. A family of four was hospitalized.

“It was something terrible. In the apartment were the spouses and their two children: a teenage girl and an adult son, says one of the eyewitnesses of the event. - There were some exorcisms. The recited prayers were heard from 14-15 hours. The police were notified at about 23.30. A fire brigade and four ambulances also arrived. The whole apartment was flooded with water, and its tenants looked terrible. Rescuers carried the young people out on stretchers. Both the boy and the girl were unconscious. The father screamed and threw himself terribly.

“We received a message from our neighbors that something strange was happening in this apartment, we could hear screams and sounds of beating objects,” confirms Zdzislaw Kulesha, director of the SP ZOZ provincial rescue service in Lublin. - First, one ambulance went there. Her crew requested support and, as a result, three more left for the site.

The police did not disclose the details of this Friday incident in one of the Lublin districts:

- The complaint concerned the violation of silence at night. The people who were in that apartment were sent to the hospital, the Lublin provincial police said.

Rescuers helped

- The police could not get into the apartment, so they called us to the place. Rescuers got inside through the balcony, breaking a window,”said Michal Badach, a representative of the city branch of the state fire service in Lublin.

According to our information, members of this family ended up in three different hospitals in the city, including one on ul. Abramovitskaya.

“We cannot provide you with information on this matter,” followed from the representative of the Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Lublin, Jeremy Karwowski.

- Does it happen that patients or relatives of patients who are admitted to your hospital ask about the possibility of exorcisms?

“Such situations happen,” Karvovsky confirmed. - But in the hospital during the treatment of the patient, this is not done. Doctors, however, have nothing against their families having contact with priests. If someone is religious, then they cannot be denied such contacts with clergy. Dr. Marek Domanski, the director of our hospital and a psychiatrist with many years of practice, has never encountered a case of obsession. The patients' behavior was caused by mental illness.

The priest sent an exorcism

Meanwhile, on a weekend in Vonvolitsa, priest-exorcist Jan Penzel warned young people about the dangers of occult practices, which in part lead to obsession. As an example, he cited a case from the Lublin archdiocese that took place in recent days.

“The priest said that the whole family moved with a young teenage girl,” said one of the participants in the Saturday service. - The priest prayed over her and performed an exorcism. After some time, it turned out that something bad continued to happen to this girl further.

Priest Penzel did not want to talk to us on this topic:

- If we talk about my activities as an exorcist, then I am obliged to keep secrecy. But I have never been to this family's house. Maybe a Carmelite priest was there.
