Zebras are very much like horses. More specifically, a pony.
However, this is only appearance. In fact, their behavior differs in significant ways. Therefore, despite the success in domestication of horses and donkeys, zebras are mostly wild animals.
How did it happen that zebras escaped the fate of plowing the ground and jumping over fences? And who is more fortunate, them or the horses?
Moreover, it is interesting that people appeared on the same continent as zebras, in Africa. But, despite this, they were not able to get from the animals that useful that they could give them.
And zebras are not as defenseless as they might seem from various animal films, where they are often portrayed as victims. A blow from their hoof can break the lion's jaw. They also have very sharp teeth and can dodge the lasso.
From this, according to researcher Francis Galton, follows the conclusion that zebras themselves do not want to be domesticated. They do not need comfort, they are not easy to take care of, they have no desire to be useful to people, and they also do not show any attachment to them.
As for horses, they, despite all their duties, live in a safer environment and with more comfort. And they are not threatened with extinction, because there are now about 60 million of them on Earth, while there are less than 800,000 zebras. If you were faced with a choice of which of these two animals you would like to become, in which direction would you make it?
