Transition to the Subtle World

The torment of hell

Suffering is created by people themselves and all its strength and duration are determined by them themselves; if they had fought against evil tendencies in physical life, they would suffer less after death. This is the only way to get rid of the vice; if a person could pass from the existence of a voluptuous or an alcoholic immediately into another existence of the same kind, he would be born a slave of his vice; this vice would have possessed him from the very beginning of life on Earth, and there would be no salvation for him; but, provided that desires wear out during life in the Subtle World, a person begins his new existence free from previous chains, and meanwhile the soul has learned a hard lesson and, thanks to this, will make every effort so that its lower guides do not repeat the same mistake.

All this the world knew back in classical times. We see this idea clearly expressed in the Tantalus myth:

“… Tormented by thirst and hunger, he stands in clear water. It reaches to his chin. He only has to bend over to quench his tormenting thirst. But as soon as one has to bend over Tantalus, the water disappears, and under his feet there is only dry black earth. Branches of fertile trees bend over the head of Tantalus: juicy figs, ruddy apples, pomegranates, pears and olives hang low over his head; heavy, ripe bunches of grapes almost touch his hair. Exhausted by hunger, Tantalus stretches out his hands for ripe fruits, but a gust of wind flies in and carries away the fruitful branches. Not only hunger and thirst torment Tantalus, eternal fear grips his heart. A rock hung over his head, it barely holds, threatens to fall every minute and crush Tantalus with its weight."

And other sins have the same dire consequences, although each has its own special differences. The curmudgeon who has been deprived of the opportunity to accumulate his gold will suffer in the same way if he knows that it will be squandered by someone else's hands. A jealous person will also suffer from his jealousy, knowing that he is no longer able to influence physical life and at the same time continuing to feel more and more force.

Or take the fate of Sisyphus, from Greek myth:

He had to roll the heavy stone to the top of the mountain, but only to see how the stone rolls back at the moment when success seemed very close. This myth depicts with precision the otherworldly existence of the ambitious. Throughout this earthly life, he created egoistic plans, and he will do the same in the Subtle World. He will just as carefully draw up his plans until they mature in his mind, and only then he is convinced that he no longer has a physical body, which is necessary for their implementation. All his hopes are rolling down, but a habit is so rooted in him that he drags the same stone over and over to the same peak of ambition until his vice is worn out to the end. Only then does he come to understand that there is no point in rolling this stone and that it is better to leave it alone.

Many temptations and temptations

“People pass into the Subtle World with all their vices and virtues, they completely retain their character. "Ulcers of the spirit are transferred to the Subtle World, if they are not eliminated on the earthly plane." As it is said, “The sower is here, and the reaper is there,” in the Subtle World. In addition, all our properties and qualities are refined or strengthened there, so the evil here becomes even more violent there and vice versa."

“In the Subtle World, there is more temptation and temptation for the unpurified consciousness, because there is reflected in vivid forms not only everything created on Earth by man to satisfy his impure desires, but also created by unpurified human thought. And therefore, it is safe to enter that World only after going through the harsh process of purification. The lower strata are horribly infectious. You cannot linger in them. You should pass through them quickly, without touching them.

“… Any unnecessary husk that the spirit brought with it to the Subtle World shows it inexpressible pain. With a fairly developed consciousness, a purification takes place that frees the spirit from husk. But the spirit (i.e. man), zealously guarding his earthly habits, will experience in the Subtle World all the ailments that he is used to experiencing during his earthly life. Going uphill, any excess stress will cause shortness of breath in that world.

It is especially difficult to bear the unlived, which is a burden in the Subtle World. The hardest thing is to feel your rudeness. Even in the lower supermundane layers one feels the heaviness of their coarseness. You can often hear screams from the layers above the earth, that is, invoking unrefined spirits about burdensomeness. You cannot litter the Subtle World with the same ease as the earthly one. And gross accumulations form, as it were, layers that are not erased, which are always visible …

If this or that feeling can change the expression on the face, then one can easily imagine how the play of feelings can be reflected in the appearance of a person who has thrown off a physical body. There people are an open book if they have not learned to master their feelings. A person thinks little about the fact that self-control and other qualities are more necessary for the Subtle World than for the physical.

Suicide and alcoholism

With natural death, the soul knows where it should go, and with suicide, it is at a loss, not understanding the reasons why it happened to leave the body prematurely, without having gone through everything assigned from above in life. Often the soul remains in the place where the suicide was committed …

If the souls of the dead, having gone through repose in paradise or purification in hell, can be reborn in a new body, then the soul of the suicide remains isolated. We can say that such souls are in a kind of sump.

The soul of a suicide will, day after day, relive over and over again his murder, what made him take this fatal step, horror, despair, fear … She is doomed to stay in this “their own Hell”. This applies to almost all suicides.

And in such an indefinite state the soul of a suicide will remain for exactly as long as a person was supposed to live in the physical world. Only after that, perhaps, the soul of the suicide will find rest, going through purgatory and all the circles of hell. And only after all the ordeals, the soul of the suicide can be placed in a new body, under the same conditions under which the suicide was committed, in order to learn how to overcome problems, strengthening and improving.

After natural death, the soul easily rises to the necessary, corresponding level, as "ripe" for the next stage of disembodied existence. And the soul of a suicide is deprived of such an opportunity.

Those suffering from alcohol addiction move to the Subtle World, and for a long time cannot get rid of this habit. The desire brought from the physical world is so strong that it does not allow anyone else to do anything. There is only one way to realize it - through astral contact to catch on to a “drinker” in the earthly world, “stick” to him energetically, and trying to make him drink as often as possible. The most suitable victims for this are alcoholics.

This happens at several energetic astral levels within the framework given to a person of freedom of choice or will. According to the Higher Laws, it is not allowed to break such a connection by force.

Temptations and allurements

Temptations, seductions appear here in the form of vague, flickering images that quickly sweep through the mind, while there these images take on the appearance of the reality surrounding a person and stand before him like living real forms. And it is enough for a person to sound them in unison towards them, as they surround him with a dense wall, amplify by his magnetism and lure from space a swarm of new, related to them in character, formations. In such a vortex funnel, if it is strong enough to create a vortex, other consciousnesses that are consonant with it in tonality are also involved.

Thus, whole layers of the Subtle World are created, which are saturated with the same emotions and thought forms. If brothels (of all kinds of debauchery) exist on the earthly plane, then they also exist there, but they are even more real, even more exacerbated, being the fruit of the most unbridled imaginations of people.

There the creators are all, and the created creations surround their creators with a solid wall. There are no such horrors in earthly life that could not find their reflection in the Subtle World, only in it they are even more sharp and bright. These layers are terribly infectious, because their magnetism is incredibly strong. Any person who has at least something in tune with these layers is exposed to the terrible danger of their poisonous attraction.

Anyone who has never tried to struggle with himself and has not overcome his lower impulses in the physical world will not find the strength to resist the magnetic force of such deadly attractions (a thousandfold temptation).

On the earthly plane, having satisfied his cravings, at least for a while a person is freed from them, but how can one get rid of them there, when the increased fires of passions and desires, drawing the consciousness (i.e., a person) into the world of ghostly forms created by desires, are satisfied can not be.

Freedom and connectedness in spirit

You can have everything that a person can only dream of, and still be free in spirit, and you can have nothing and be a slave to what a person would like to have. Therefore, it makes no difference whether he has something or not, if in the spirit he is bound. And therefore it is necessary to strive precisely towards liberation in the spirit from everything that can have power over it. This bondage and these chains is carried by the spirit (i.e. man) into the Subtle World and continues to be in this slavery until the time when he realizes that no one and nothing can free him from this slavery, except himself.

Refusal will not help, because refusal is not liberation, but only suppression of what has not yet been eliminated. Liberation is a voluntary and conscious replacement of one with another, the lower with the higher, bondage with freedom.

The spirit, freed from the body, carries away with it everything, except for the lower triad. Everything he lived, dreamed of, enjoyed, transfers everything in images, desires and aspirations to the Supermundane. And if he lived on the earthly plane in order to eat deliciously, and saw in this the basis of his interests, then he would not part with her there, surrounded by thoughts, images and the process of gluttony. And if at the same time he never thought about anything that goes beyond the interest of the stomach, and did not allow thoughts about the life of another, then it is extremely difficult for him to get out of such a prison of self-sacrifice. Where to get out and what for, when he never even thought about it?

It is good to understand, even during earthly life, in what kind of mental slavery a person finds himself with his passions and attachments. How can you see your mental prison, which was created by your own efforts, if you do not move away from it, at least for a moment, and do not look at yourself from the outside. A person lives under the power of different potentials.

The temporary personality of a person dies, and the eternal "I" remains and exists without this animal personality, without losing anything from the fullness and richness of life. Only the transfer of consciousness to the sphere of the higher "I" makes it possible to see the connectedness of the spirit and give strength to the striving for freedom.

A person who does not want to see does not understand that it will be just as stupid to sit at the table of gourmand, drink, smoke, drowning in imaginary forms created by his imagination when the body is thrown off.

Purgatory

“Purgatory is so called for the reason that it throws off the spirit of worthless rags. A man carries with him a lot of unnecessary things into the Subtle World, cluttering it up with creatures. Leaving the physical body, it is good with it to leave everything earthly on the earthly plane (all "beloved" earthly property). Not because of wisdom before, during the funeral of the deceased, they put their favorite things and various household items into the grave to use them in that World, thereby further burdening the consciousness of the departed and preventing him from breaking away from the Earth. It is in the spirit that one should free oneself from all earthly survivals in advance, so as not to burden one's spirit with anything.

“It's better to have nothing than to have to be a slave to what you own. Things are a great burden on the spirit. Therefore, we want to destroy the concept of property and replace it with the concept of temporary use of things necessary for life. The harm of property is not in the things themselves, but in the fact that human consciousness is bound by them and filled with thoughts about them. The very concept of property is absurd, because it is absurd to consider the matter of which things are your own.

… Liberation from things in the spirit is necessary in order to be free on Earth and even more so in the Supermundane World, where the cut off magnetic currents, which firmly connect the owner with his property, retain their strength and keep the spirit (person) captive by the things surrounding consciousness.

Astral counterparts of material things have a vivid appearance on the Astral plane, and the owner, who is not free from earthly things, continues to own them, that is, these doubles, because he considers them his own. And instead of the beauty of the Subtle World, instead of boundless Space, instead of the radiance of the Far Worlds or beautiful landscapes that are invisible to the earthly eye, he will see the fragments of earthly heaps of unnecessary things, imperfect and even sometimes ugly, and will grab onto them, trying to keep them near him. Isn't this too expensive a price to pay for your own ignorance?

Learn to look at everything that fate has put into your hands as a temporary possession of things that are necessary only during earthly life, the possession of which should not and cannot in your consciousness extend for a single moment beyond the terms of life in the physical world.

When the spirit leaves the earthly body, it pulls behind it a long, dragging tail of earthly property, which will stretch after it until it is cut off. And since the stay in the Subtle World is much longer than the earthly one, one can imagine what a man is depriving himself of, who surrounded himself with rags and debris of earthly remnants.

Evil and slander

Sowers of evil and slander, can you understand what a stuffy dungeon you are preparing for yourself! Thoughts of evil will find their master. Such a dark master cannot hide from his offspring. Someone still thinks about the invented scarecrow, because he does not admit that thought is eternal energy.

“It is very bad to pass into the Subtle World in the black fires of anger. It means going blind. In addition to blindness, such anger deprives the feeling of communication, with its spirit. Anger is not human. This is the lowest kind of ignorance.

In anger, people descend into an animal state with all its consequences. Therefore, if people in spite passed into the Subtle World, it will be especially difficult for them to ascend (to the Light). If all sorts of passions interfere with the ascent, then malice, like a red-hot iron, burns out all acquisitions. The beings of the Subtle World of the middle strata will not find a way to accomplish the phenomena of purification until the self-blind (man) finds a fragment of his broken spiritual consciousness.
