This happens for many reasons. For example, cosmic radiation, which destroys human DNA. Mars did not receive a large magnetic field, which the Earth has, it is this field that protects humanity from radiation.
Also, on the Red Planet, gravity is three times lower, and this affects the fact that the circulatory system of people will stop working in normal mode, which means it will be worse to nourish the entire body. The colonist will live in a confined space, since the air of Mars is poisonous to humans. All these conditions are incredibly stressful for human health, which will lead to premature aging. According to the authors of the work, people will be able to live on the Red Planet for a maximum of fifty years.
