It is possible that this creature is part of a phenomenon called "Men in Black", as it is also associated with a UFO and also represents a strange looking man. But not all Smiling People wore black suits and hats like the Men in Black.

According to the researcher of anomalous phenomena John Keel, who published his book Strange Creatures from Time and Space in 1970, the first known case of the Smiling Man occurred in October 1966 in New Jersey.
A certain woman rushed to two walking teenagers, saying that she was being pursued by a "tall green man", and a little later in the evening these teenagers themselves saw this man with fear. He was standing across the street from the boys at the fence of the house and was dressed in a green suit so shiny that the light from the lantern was reflected in him.
When the creature noticed that the teenagers were looking at him, it slowly turned towards them and an ominous smile appeared on its face. It got bigger and bigger, and at the end it practically went from ear to ear. On the face of the strange man, the boys managed to notice still small elongated eyes, but they did not at all remember whether he had a nose, ears or hair.

Three weeks later, out-of-state sewing machine salesman Woodrow Derenberger claimed that while driving in his car, he was stopped on the highway by a strange vehicle. A tall bald man in a blue metallic suit emerged from the object. An eyewitness immediately noticed his extended eyes and a completely crazy smile.

The smiling man called his name - Indrid Cold, and then an eyewitness says that he had telepathic contact with this creature, during which it told him that they would see each other again. Then the creature left.

It was said that he ended his days in 1990 completely out of his mind, because until his death he was completely possessed by the Smiling Man.

Sometimes he was seen in the house near the bed, sometimes entering or leaving the house of an eyewitness. It is believed that this creature or creatures are almost the same class of alien-related creatures as the Men in Black, but probably a different modification. It is possible that they (like the Men in Black) are human / alien hybrids and work as a sort of messenger.
