In the hands of the editors of Hi-News was an exclusive video sent by eyewitnesses from the scene. The video captures an act of blatant rudeness and disrespect towards the authoritative specialist, the deputy head of the robotics department of the Moscow Institute of Technology, the robot Alantim. However, see for yourself. Caution, obscene language and scenes of cruelty. Move kids and smart technology away from monitors.

According to the press service of MIT, the robot, which was on a working trip on a motorcycle, was beaten with a baseball bat and knocked down.

Robot Alantim is the Deputy Head of the Department of Robotics at the Moscow Institute of Technology (MTI). He has held this position since February 2015. As part of his scientific work, Alantim conducts research on the interaction of humans and robots. In connection with the development of unmanned vehicles, the robot decided to make a series of trips along the streets of Moscow in order to find out how ready the city is to switch to this type of transport. He analyzed the quality of the road surface, the visibility of signs and road markings, the availability of parking, and also found out the peculiarities of the behavior of Moscow drivers on the road. Obviously, the behavior is not the best.

To ensure the best visibility, Alantim chose to travel around the city by motorcycle. To ensure the robot is safe when moving, it was equipped with additional protection in the form of metal sheets.

As you can see, the extra protection didn't save the robot. After being hit with a bat, he twisted his neck and fell backwards on the wet asphalt, helplessly rotating his head and manipulators, as if asking humanity: "For what?"

Alexander Kovalenko, head of the press service of the Moscow Institute of Technology:

“At the moment, Alantim is under repair. We hope that the specialists of the institute will be able to fully restore the robot and it will return to its research. Due to the fact that the attacker's car had no registration numbers, it is not possible to establish his identity. The issue of contacting the police regarding this incident is now being decided at the level of the university administration."

Promotional video:

It is hoped that those responsible for this incident will be punished as they deserve. We also wish Alantim a speedy recovery. Next time, let him arm himself with a pepper spray or railgun.

There was also a version that the robot could seriously annoy some of the colleagues, or someone marks his place of honor as the deputy head of the department.
