Coffee allows you to manipulate people, as lovers of a fragrant drink are more influenced. This is the conclusion reached by experts at the Australian University of Queensland, who studied the effect of coffee on humans
During the experiment, scientists invited 140 volunteers and divided them into two groups. Both teams were asked to give their views on the problem of abortion. However, before answering the question, representatives of one group were asked to drink several cups of coffee. Volunteers from the second group were treated to other drinks that did not contain caffeine.
After that, all participants in the experiment were asked to listen to a number of statements and counterarguments that were fundamentally different from the opinions and positions previously expressed by the volunteers.
At the same time, the group of volunteers who were not offered an invigorating drink continued to defend their earlier position. And those volunteers who drank coffee quickly and without much resistance changed their initial opinion.
According to RIA Novosti, in this way scientists have established a link between caffeine and the ability to manipulate people. However, experts have not yet been able to figure out how this mechanism works and how many cups of coffee are required to achieve this effect.
At this stage of research, experts believe that caffeine is to blame. According to scientists, large doses of this substance lead a person into a state of euphoria, which prevents him from concentrating on any issue. That is why the participants in the experiment who drank coffee so easily changed their minds.
