In the household of the Volkhin family from Auliekol (a village in the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan), unexplained events are taking place.
On the morning of last Tuesday, going out to the yard, the spouses Nikolai and Svetlana were numb with horror. The rabbit cages were overturned, the thick metal bars ripped out. And next to them were 38 dead animals with torn off legs and deep wounds on their bodies. Since the Volkhins' house is located next to a lake overgrown with reeds, they thought: perhaps a ferret or a fox climbed into the courtyard?
They did not turn to anywhere, because the animals were not stolen, not taken away. Grieved. They collected the torn rabbit carcasses and took them out. Although they did not find an answer to many of Volkhina's questions. Well, for example, what strength must the same fox have to tear out thick iron bars ?!
The horror was repeated last Sunday. The only remaining cage with young rabbits was raked out. The animals had the same wounds! And in the courtyard, ducks with huge wounds on their backs fought in the last convulsions. The family decided to slaughter and pluck the still living bird, so as not to lose the winter meat supplies at all.
Who could have inflicted such terrible wounds on ducks and rabbits?

We met with Svetlana and her mother Galina Iosifovna on the same day. Neighbors advised them to go to the newspaper, since recently there were reports of similar cases in the southern Urals on Russian television. Even an experienced hunter friend, who had left at our request as a consultant, was confused. The owners showed us a high gate, which is bolted at night. It was unlocked in the morning. We were shown the tight-fitting latch on the rabbit cage doors. How were they discovered? If a man was working, then how could he inflict such wounds on the backs of ducks, it looks like traces of either claws or fangs? "Perhaps it is a lynx or a jungle cat," suggested the hunter.
But the Volkhins' house is almost the center of a large village. It is difficult to imagine that a lynx comes hunting in a large village! And why does she not eat her victims, but only kill? In addition, the usually noisy ducks did not scream, the guard mongrel in the yard did not bark. In general, everyone decided, it all looks like the tricks of the notorious Chupacabra, the bloodthirstiness of which is now known not only in Spain, where she allegedly cut out farm goats. After that, similar cases were recorded in other countries.
I asked the owners to freeze and preserve the duck carcass. Perhaps there is a specialist in the field who can give explanations, at the same time determine whether it is possible to eat meat from a finished bird.
