The All-Russian automobile portal Drom.ru is conducting a survey “Do you have icons, talismans, charms, etc. in your car?”, In which over 22 thousand motorists from all over the country took part.

It turned out that drivers from Buryatia are most fond of carrying amulets from road accidents in their cars - 73.1% of respondents answered the portal's question in the affirmative. In second place after Buryatia is the Stavropol Territory, where mascots are carried by 60.3% of drivers. The top five also included Crimea (58.5%), Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (58.1%) and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra (57.7%).

The most "atheistic" region was the Sakhalin Oblast, where 76.2% of drivers do not believe in supernatural help from amulets. The top 5 subjects of the federation that answered negatively to the question included three regions of the Far East at once: Khabarovsk Territory (35.4%), Primorsky Territory (41%), Amur Region (54%), St. Petersburg (37.7%)) and Tatarstan (42%).

If we take the federal districts, then most of all the drivers of the Central Federal District hope for the patronage of the higher powers (53.3% answered in the affirmative), and the most non-religious motorists - in the Far East (40.6%).

In the comments to the survey, portal users share stories about their amulets. At the same time, the symbols themselves that motorists carry with them can be different: from ordinary icons and crosses to memorabilia devoid of a religious component ("A couple of little pigs hanging out under the mirror").

There are also quite exotic options: “The box contains python scales. It has been lying for a long time. From car to car wanders. I understand that there is zero sense from it, but somehow it's scary to throw it away. What if it works?"

However, a significant part of users are sure that "the main talisman and amulet in the car is its regular maintenance."
