“None of the people living on Earth are able to figure out what's going on in Cheboksary,” says M. Dvinsky, a local researcher of anomalous phenomena.
For ten years, his colleague, amateur astronomer N. Khomyakov, carefully recorded in his diary everything that he saw in the sky. Relatively recently, he processed the data he had accumulated.
- Above the city in the sky I have fixed a whole group of completely material bodies, - N. Khomyakov asserts. - More often than others, a sphere with a diameter of twenty meters appears. At night it is slightly silvery, illuminated by the moon, and during the day it becomes completely transparent, that is, invisible. At night, she is often visited by more miniature objects - perhaps transport ships that, for example, deliver fuel or something else there. These vehicles fly to the sphere quickly and always in a straight line …
In addition, much higher than the sphere - at an altitude of about three kilometers - an object similar to a large "dumbbell" flies regularly. Finally, the most incomprehensible, the most mysterious of all Cheboksary UFOs often appears. This object itself is never visible, but the light of the moon and stars passing through it is distorted. An invisible UFO refracts light rays!
According to the amateur astronomer N. Khomyakov, all these objects are automatic machines that constantly monitor the city. It is difficult to notice them. To notice, you have to look through a telescope at night for years, waiting for UFOs to accidentally give themselves away …
The first "contact incidents" were registered in Cheboksary in the summer of 1980, when no one in Chuvashia had really heard anything about anomalous phenomena. In a park on the outskirts of the city, several large circles were found burned out of the soil. There were scraps of some substance that looked like greenish sticky cotton wool. Where the circles suddenly came from, what kind of greenish substance, nobody knew … The circles were gradually overgrown with grass. Pieces of green "cotton wool" were dispersed from the curious hands.
And on the evening of October 12, 1980, thousands of people heard a sound similar to the howl of a siren. The sound was coming from somewhere in the north - from beyond the Volga. A faint dot appeared on the horizon beyond the Volga. For several minutes, the point hung motionless in the sky, and then, as if having made up her mind, took off and quickly flew towards the city. During the flight, it transformed into a giant blue oval with a red nucleolus in the middle. Having reached the zenith, the object froze over the heads of the astonished townspeople who watched it from various streets of Cheboksary. Then it suddenly exploded with thousands of shiny yellow sparks. Like the stars of a festive fireworks, sparks fell on a suburban park located on the outskirts of the city.

A few days later, residents of houses on Pavlova Street near the park reported to the police that “devilry” had started in their houses. At night, the windows overlooking the park were opened by themselves. Returning home from work in the evening, some found a mess in their apartments - wardrobes were wide open, clothes and dishes were lying on the floor, and it was as if someone was dancing on the beds.
One pensioner decided to watch for the "hooligans". He hid in the stairwell near the door leading to his apartment. And when he heard that someone was wandering around the apartment outside the door and talking quietly there, he flung open the door and rushed into the house. To his own surprise, he found no strangers in the house.
Soon, the tricks of the invisible pranksters began to occur in other multi-storey residential buildings in the city.
Physicist M. Dvinsky and engineer I. Yablonsky mapped the city places where all these anomalous phenomena were observed, and found that a huge "paranormal language" seemed to crawl out of the suburban park onto the city. It is and only within the limits of the “language” that all sorts of “miracles” took place in apartments … Almost twenty years have passed since then, and the zone retains its shape. In it, invisible hooligans still rage in apartments from time to time.
In addition, strange dreams began to occur to people living within this zone.
Vladimir Kuptsov, who studied in the sixth grade in 1980, says:
- As soon as I fell asleep, three beings appeared in my dream. The first looked like a huge polar bear, the second looked like a clot of fog, and the third looked like a tangle of red rays. They had long and annoying conversations with me. In the morning I woke up broken, with a headache. I thought I was going crazy. But then suddenly from conversations with housemates and my classmates it became clear that many people see the same dreams within the "zone".
- What united these people?
- Nothing. Their age is from seven to seventy years. True, men dreamed of those three creatures more often than women.
- How long have you personally seen these dreams?
- For a long time. For three years. Until August 1983 … The first few months I simply could not understand what the "night visitors" want from me, breaking into my dreams. I remember they said that they supposedly represent some unknown race. They do not have such bodies as we do, but they, like us, have intelligence. I also remember their words: in time immemorial, people defeated them, drove them into swamps and forests, but now they are returning.
According to V. Kuptsov, in June 1981 he had a particularly vivid dream. The creature resembling a bear ordered him to go to the Detsky Mir store in the morning, find there in a strictly defined place, in the gap between two bricks, and crush it in a puddle near the Priroda store. Early in the morning, barely waking up, a terribly intrigued teenager ran to the Children's World. He was extremely surprised when he actually found an oblong ampoule of dark glass in the gap between the bricks; inside - something liquid.
“I didn’t carry out the second part of the order,” says V. Kuptsov. - I didn't go to the Nature store, but crushed the ampoule right there, on the spot, next to the brick wall. And he waited to see what would happen. However, nothing happened. In front of me just a crushed ampoule lay on the ground in a puddle of colorless liquid that had flowed out of it.
And yet, something, not noticed by the schoolboy, happened, probably. For from that day on, "dreams of three beings" ceased to be dreamed by the teenager - they did not bother him throughout the summer.
And in October, V. Kuptsov recalls, those very creatures returned to his dreams. This time they called themselves aliens and thanked for the completed task, for the fact that the student crushed the ampoule - albeit in another place, and not where it should have been done.
These creatures - "bear", cloud "and" interlacing of rays "- dreamed, I remind, not only of schoolboy V. Kuptsov.
Here is what a secondary school teacher Nikolai Skvortsov told about their "visits" to other people's dreams:
- Repeated dreams about three "freaks" just tortured me! The "freaks" kept repeating: "We do not want harm to the Earth. Our goal is cooperation. " They promised to fulfill my every wish, if I agree to fulfill their task. Which one, you ask? Yes, the most that neither is idiotic! I had to get out of my mailbox an empty sealed envelope, dropped into the mailbox by no one knows. Then he had to take the envelope, without opening it, to the forest and hide it in a certain place … The "freaks" pestered me so much with a request to complete this task of theirs that I once spat in my hearts in a dream and agreed. The next morning, I found a sealed, empty envelope in my mailbox. He took it to the forest and hid it there, which was ordered …
And at night the same trio appeared again in my dream. They say: "Now ask what you want." I'm an amateur astronomer. I couldn't get myself a telescope. Well, so he asked: "Give me a telescope!" A few days later, unexpectedly, a package arrived from Moscow from an old friend of mine. The package contains a modern spyglass. “I bought it for the occasion. I give it to you,”a friend wrote in a letter attached to a telescope.
From that day on, the teacher NK Skvortsov stopped dreaming about "freaks".
And some of the residents of the city saw, imagine, something like the continuation of these dreams in reality!

Now I’ll give an extract from the “working journal” of local researchers of anomalous phenomena: “In the winter of 1981/82, crowds of ghosts literally fell on the city, one gloomier than the other - howling clots of darkness clinging to window sills, ghostly animal paws … In Cheboksary, mass hysteria was growing, aggravated the stubborn silence of the press, usual for those years.
The culmination of panic was the appearance in the sky of a French meteorological balloon that accidentally flew into the airspace of Cheboksary. The ball glittered in the morning dawn, and it was mistaken for an alien ship. Residents of the city began to prepare for the fact that an alien invasion would begin any minute!.. The balloon landed in the vicinity of the city, and then, to the general relief, it turned out that it was a foreign meteorological balloon, equipped with the radio equipment corresponding to its purpose.
The city calmed down.
However, in the late autumn of 1982, something extraordinary happened in Cheboksary. There are thousands of witnesses of the incident. There is even a film on which the incident was filmed. It has survived to this day. Engineer I. Yablonsky conducted a unique filming.
What happened is that a statue of Lenin in one of the city squares began to nod its head distinctly! These slow nods were observed several times a day for almost two months.
1984 was marked by the appearance in the Chuvash skies of an object dubbed a “noisy ghost”. The coal-black disk appeared only at night and flew over the city with a dull roar. When he found himself above this or that residential building, all the electric lamps began to pulsate in the apartments, sometimes flaring up, then almost completely extinguishing.
The day February 15, 1985 was remembered for a long time by Cheboksary residents.
