Neil Arnold is a good friend of mine, writes ufologist Nick Redfern, he, like me, spent a lot of time investigating the supernatural cases of the "woman in black" that can be found all over the world, there are also cases of meetings with the "woman in white". Neil has collected a lot of material about this strange and eerie phenomenon. And today I'm going to share them with you. That’s all, now I’ll turn the floor over to Neal: “For almost a century, many motorists, while driving near the village of Blue Bell Hill in Kent (England), claimed to have been hit, tried to fail, saw a young, unhappy woman dressed in a white dress by the road … Over the years, the legend became known as the “ghostly hitchhiker of Blue Bell Hill,” yet what happened in January 1993 on this ancient hill was far more sinister.

Neil continues: “On January 6 at 12:45 pm, five people, the Maiden family, were driving along the so-called Old Chatham Road, the original route through Blue Bell Hill before the construction of the two-way road (A229) in the 1970s, when they observed a figure standing on the road in the beams of headlights. The driver, Mr. Malcolm Maiden, was accompanied by his wife, Angela, who was the passenger, and their young daughter, who was asleep, was sitting in the back seat, plus Mrs. Maiden's mother and a family friend. A figure was moving out of a dark alley; moving from right to left, Mr. Maiden stopped the car. At first, four witnesses thought that someone in a costume was playing them, possibly a belated Halloween prank. The figure, according to Mr. Maiden, was in a long, old-fashioned dress, a plaid scarf on its shoulders and a hat on its head."

Neal continues: “However, this is where things get extremely creepy. The headlights of the car illuminated the figure, which seemed to be nibbled, but within a split second the firuga took on its natural features, just then the witnesses saw the face. It was absolutely terrible, Mrs. Maiden reported that the face was very small with small black eyes. And yet this was not the scariest feature. The mouth was the worst. It was opened like a black hole. My mother was sitting right behind me, we simultaneously said: "Oh my God!".

“Suddenly, an eerie hissing noise filled the interior of the car, although the windows were closed on that cold, clear night. The figure clutched a stick in its bony hand and shook it aggressively. In panic, Mrs. Maiden raised her hand, as if defending herself, when at last the engine of the car got into the necessary gear, breaking loose from the spell of the disgusting entity, Mr. Maiden pressed the gas, breaking away from the devilish entity. Mrs. Maiden's mother watched the figure, which then disappeared into the shadows; daughter Angela woke up in a nightmare; stating that a terrible shadow hung over the car. The frightened family told the local newspaper about their meeting, Mrs. Maiden added: “I have never felt so angry before and never been so scared. I felt like I was looking into the eyes of the Devil."

Neal concludes: “From a skeptical point of view, it can be argued that such encounters are rare and most likely associated with clever pranks or frightening hoaxes, but this is clearly not the case. In 2003, a young couple was driving down Chatham Road on a dark night when a male driver decided to stop and urinate in the bushes. When he returned to the car, he and his girlfriend screamed in horror as a witch-like figure stood in the dark alley in front of them. This observation echoes the case of a truck driver who was driving up Chatham Road to a large two-way road in the 1970s. It was in the early hours of frosty November when he noticed a figure in a black hood at the intersection of a road, one road leading into the forest, and the other to an ancient stone structure called Kits Coty House. On a rainy evening just a few years ago, a young woman named Miss Hayes was driving home from work on her way to the Lower Bell Inn in Blue Bell Hill when she noticed an old woman in black standing by the road through a downpour. When the old woman approached her, she noticed that the figure was wearing a long black coat, she turned away for a second and when she looked again, the figure disappeared."
