The Bell Witch Cave belongs to one of the most mystical and mysterious places on the planet. It is located in the state of Tennessee in the USA. The history of this place dates back to the 1800s. But many who have been there now claim that mysticism is still present there. It is worth taking a closer look at the details of this mysterious story.
How it all began?
At the beginning of the ⅩⅠⅩ century, a farmer named John Bell with his family came to the Red River Valley, located in Tennessee. They settled in the Adams community, where they purchased a land plot and a large house. At first, the family did well.
Soon, the farmer began to notice the ghosts of dogs and birds on his land. Then other family members faced a similar phenomenon. At first, they did not attach much importance to the events, believing that they just seemed. But the situation soon began to deteriorate.
At night, all the inhabitants of the house heard noise, grinding, knocking. The bedspreads themselves fell from the beds, family members regularly woke up from the fact that they seemed to be touched by other people's invisible hands. The situation continued to deteriorate, and soon a whisper was added to the rustle. The farmer, his wife and children seemed to hear someone's voices.

The ghost confesses who he is
Gradually, the subtle whisper of the ghost became clearer. He communicated not only with the family living in the house, but also with their guests. One day an invisible visitor made a confession and announced who he really was. The ghost revealed that he is the old witch Kate Butts. She decided to punish John Bell for the fact that he once made a bad deal. Allegedly, he deceived Kate, and now the ghost will take revenge on him for the rest of his life.
Rumors of the presence of a poltergeist in the house spread throughout the district. The farm was even visited by an exorcist. He tried to rid the inhabitants of the house of the ghost with a silver bullet, but failed and quickly retreated.
Ghost tricks
The spirit caused many problems for the inhabitants of the farm. John was truly furious when a poltergeist upset his daughter's engagement. When guests gathered in the house, an invisible resident of the farm appeared and began to make dirty jokes and words, speaking about the girl and her fiance that her daughter could not stand it and left her engagement in tears. Soon John saw the silhouette of a ghost, and tried to kill him with a saber. This did not bring him the desired result, but only made the spirit more angry.

On one of the walks with her son, the witch constantly pulled off the farmer's boots. As a result, the man gave up, sat down on the nearest tree and began to cry. He felt his powerlessness and was broken.

The ghost's tricks affected John so badly that his health deteriorated. Once he completely fell into a coma. The spirit exchanged the medicine bottle for some questionable liquid. It was her that the farmer took before he ended up in a coma. The spirit openly declared to the tenants of the house that the elder Bell was finished. His family got scared. The called doctor decided to test that very strange liquid on a cat. After drinking, she died immediately. The relatives realized that the farmer was doomed. After a couple of hours, John Bell was gone.
But even during the funeral, the witch did not leave the family alone. She uttered terrible screams and screams, sang songs and did not allow her family to normally say goodbye to the father of the family. Some time after these events, when the whole family was sitting at the table, a cannonball fell into their fireplace and exploded. After the residents of the house heard the ghost say that he was leaving them for 7 years.
The poltergeist fulfilled his promise and showed up only after a specified period of time. He went to the younger John Bell and told him about the upcoming events. This story turned out to be prophetic. The witch also said that she was retiring for 107 years, but after her return she did not intend to bother this family anymore. After the indicated time, the ghost returned to the cave located next to the mansion.

Some also claim that many gliding lights can be seen near the cave at night.
