Politics is a dirty, deceitful zone of lies and hypocrisy. The politician smiles in the eyes and calls you a friend, only because it is beneficial to him now, and he is preparing a blow on the sly.

They also constantly lie to the whole world, justifying and explaining their actions, while they never name the true reasons.

This happened with the Crimea in 2014. I will try to explain the true reason for the annexation of the peninsula to Russia.

Why is Crimea so important?

The key to a successful war is to ensure numerical superiority over the opponent, as well as the timely delivery of provisions, cartridges, shells, replenishment of troops with new soldiers. The cheapest and fastest way to transport your essentials by water.

The Black Sea connects with the Aegean, which in turn with the Mediterranean. And from the Mediterranean Sea you can get to almost any country in Europe. If you transfer troops over land, then you will need to ask for official permission from each country through whose territory the route will lie. Naturally, no one will give such permission just like that, and everyone will bargain for preferences.

And by sea, you will only need to get permission from Turkey to pass through the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles in order to transfer troops in a matter of hours.

Therefore, the peninsula is a strategic object for Russia, since it has access to the Black Sea.

Khrushchev's crime

On February 19, 1954, the stupid tyrant Khrushchev transferred the Crimea under the control of the Ukrainian SSR. Of course, then no one could even imagine that someday Ukraine would leave the USSR. However, this only shows how stupid and short-sighted this person was.

By the way, the transfer of Crimea was illegal, since there was no quorum, that is, the required number of votes, when the decision was made. However, non-observance of the rule, the Crimea was nevertheless given away, as they say from economic interests, so that it would be easier to give administrative orders during the construction of the Kherson canal.

Yeltsin's crime

In 1991, the USSR was sawing in Belovezhskaya Pushcha. Even in spite of a general referendum, according to the results of which the people voted to preserve the union, under pressure from the Americans, they decided to dissolve and form many independent states.

The first president of Ukraine, Kravchuk, understood that Russia could not lose the strategically important Crimea, but another degenerate, drunkard and just a pest Boris Yeltsin did not raise this issue …

He personally released Ukraine along with the Crimea from the USSR, apparently not realizing that time was changing and the enemies were on the alert. And in politics, whoever is a friend today may become an enemy tomorrow. And now we have to pay for the shortsightedness of this clown.

As a result, Russia had to lease the Sevastopol port to accommodate its ships there.

2004 and the first attempt to drive the Russian fleet away

In 2004, the first Orange Revolution coup took place in Ukraine. Although this is not a revolution at all, since no socio-economic transformation has taken place and the form of power has not changed. It's just that one group threw off the president from another group. Yanukovych, who won the election, was forced to leave, and Yushchenko was put in his place.

Then began anti-Russian propaganda and attempts to expel the Russian fleet from the Crimea. Putin bargained with Tymoshenko to lease the port for 50 years, in exchange for a discount on gas.

However, everyone understood that the situation was unstable and would come back to haunt.

2014 why they took Crimea

In March 2014, Ukraine again carried out a coup d'état, again ousted Yanukovych from the presidency and replaced Poroshenko. A new wave of anti-Russian sentiment began. Civil war broke out in Donbass.

Poroshenko began asking NATO troops to intervene in the conflict and, apparently, it was decided to expel the Russian fleet from Sevastopol. We will not find out the truth for a very long time, what threatened our naval base and access to the sea so much, but the government decided to take Crimea completely into Russia.

The pretext was the referendum, which was held at lightning speed and without coordinating with anyone, so as not to drag out this process.

Only time will tell whether this decision is correct.

There is a clause in international law that the people have the right to self-determination and can choose which country to belong to. But there is also a point about the indivisibility and integrity of states, and they seem to be mutually exclusive and allow politicians to use loopholes.

So Yugoslavia was torn apart, spitting on indivisibility. Thus, Kosovo was separated from Serbia, again forgetting about the integrity of the state and pressing on the self-determination of the people.

However, as soon as Russia took advantage of this loophole, they immediately shouted about the annexation and integrity of Ukraine, guaranteed by international law.

One word is Politics! Lies, hypocrisy and disregard for ordinary people, all just for the sake of defending their own interests.
