A loud noise excited the residents of Novy Urengoy on Tuesday. The loud "incomprehensibly thumping" sound continued at night, so much so that somewhere the windows in residential buildings were shaking.

Residents of the southern and northern parts of the city put forward a variety of versions - from air dropping in boiler rooms with a deaerator, field tests to UFO visits. Hundreds of comments were left by Novy Urengoy residents in the discussion group.
- I heard this for the first time, although I have been living in the city for more than 15 years, - says Andrey. - Some strange, heavy rumble beat in my ears all day.

“I didn’t go outside that day, but I heard everything through the open windows,” the pensioner recalls, “At night I even left the house to understand where these mysterious noises were coming from.
But there are quite a few Novy Urengoy residents who did not hear anything at all and were even indignant at the “stupid rumors”.
“I was running around the city and didn’t hear anything,” the gas service employee wonders. - People have nothing to do, that's all nonsense.

City emergency services and firefighters are also not aware of any tests or activities that could cause such noise.
