Quite mysterious events take place around the estate of the founder of Playboy magazine, Hugh Heffner. The estate is rented for corporate and media events. It became known that those who attended these celebrations fall ill with a peculiar and not yet established respiratory disease with manifestations up to pneumonia

The party, which took place at Playboy Mansion on February 3, was part of the annual DOMAINfest Global conference attended by IT professionals from 30 countries. The conference itself was held at a hotel in Santa Monica, California, but the DOMAINfest Global graduation party was hosted at Playboy Mansion.

A day after the party ended, numerous guests at Playboy Mansion were hospitalized with fever, shortness of breath, headaches and other symptoms. Some of them said that they suspected they had a form of legionellosis (an acute respiratory disease caused by legionella colonies that multiply in the fluid of the ventilation system).

As a result, the Los Angeles County Public Health Department sent out a letter to all DOMAINfest Global attendees informing them of the sick colleagues. County authorities and DOMAINfest Global organizers are now conducting a joint investigation into the incident.

In turn, Hefner's representatives said that there is no evidence that DOMAINfest Global members contracted the disease after attending Playboy Mansion.

It should be noted that the Playboy Mansion regularly hosts events, the number of guests at which can be up to 1000 people. So far, it has not been reported that anyone fell ill after a visit to Hefner's mansion.
