In Buddhism, it is believed that a monk accumulates matter in his body that ordinary people do not have. This material remains in the ashes after the cremation of the monk's body and looks like pearls or precious stones. It is believed that it is accumulated from other spaces and is not a thing from our world.
These "pearls" are called sarira. This phenomenon has been little studied. Some believe that the sarira is a sacred relic and therefore cannot be used for scientific experiments.
Stanford University doctor William A. Tiller and his team of scientists studied the energy emitted by the sarira. Nisha J. Manek is the main author of the report presented at the 2012 Annual Science of Consciousness Conference at the University of Arizona. Manek studied at Stanford University and worked with the Mayo Clinic research group for a long time before joining the Tiller Institute.
Manek, who is not a Buddhist, described how she felt in the presence of the sarira: “I distinctly felt a strong energy radiating from the sarira and penetrating into my heart. It was a very personal experience, I felt oneness with all things and all living beings. I cannot compare this with any other phenomenon."
Scientists used the methods developed by Tiller to objectively measure what Manek felt as energy emanating from the relic. Tiller studied the physical effects of human consciousness. He believes that there are two types of matter. We can perceive one of them with our normal senses; this matter exists at the level of electrical atoms / molecules. Another type of matter exists in the space between atoms and molecules.
As a rule, we are unable to perceive this type of matter, described by Tiller as the highest state of free thermodynamic energy, which is very powerful. Tiller says he has found a way to fix this matter, but this is only possible when it comes into contact with ordinary molecular matter that we can measure and perceive. This phenomenon rarely happens, because usually two types of matter exist independently of each other.

Human intention activates matter called deltrons. Deltrons provide interaction between two types of matter. In a study by Tiller and Manek it is said that these substances bear the imprint of human thought activity.
“Although we do not believe that these matters can have independent consciousness, human consciousness leaves its mark. In the case of Buddhist relics, worship has left its mark over hundreds of years. If they were not so respected, these relics would have disappeared,”the report says. Scientists have also found that the atomic-molecular structure of the space around the relics is more coherent.
Sarira is still a mystery. As a result of the cremation of ordinary people, no such remains were found. However, the supernatural origin of the sarira has not been proven.
There are many relics on the Ebay site that are passed off as sarira and sell for $ 10 apiece. One Buddhist organization is selling a small collection of sarir, worth $ 4,000, because it needs funds to support its work.
In the studies of Tiller and Manek, hypotheses are expressed that the sarira may have a special energy that affects the worshipers, or this energy is caused by the worshipers themselves.
