It happened one summer day in 1939. Without much effort, a transport aircraft with a dozen passengers took off from a military airfield in the city of San Diego in the southwestern United States.

But not even half an hour had passed, the person on duty at the ground station for monitoring the airspace received the SOS! Signal, which was sent from the transporter. An hour later, the transport plane was again rolling down the concrete track of the airport in San Diego. When the hatch was opened, everyone around them was horrified: the passengers were all dead. And only the commander still showed signs of life, however, he died a few minutes later.

Burns were clearly visible on the faces of the dead. It was clear that they were inflicted by this or that which was the cause of their death. But who could have done this has not been found out. It was later established that the crew and passengers used their personal weapons. This could be seen from the bullet holes that the investigation found on the skin inside the aircraft cabin. It was almost impossible to explain what happened with more or less real reasons, for example, a quarrel between passengers, as a result of which weapons were used, and at least one person survived.

And then the experts who were investigating this incomprehensible incident put forward a very bold assumption that the death of people on the plane is associated with unknown celestial entities. And they had very good reasons for this version.

The fact is that, according to ancient sources, back in 106 BC. e. many Romans saw giant red birds in the sky. There were flaming embers in their beaks. When the birds were over the city, they opened their beaks, and the firebrands fell on the houses, causing a massive fire. In the Middle Ages, crimson-colored fiery creatures similar to birds were rarely seen in the skies over France and Portugal. In those days they were called fire spirits, or elementals. By the way, maybe this is where the fabulous firebird came from.

In the mid-80s of the last century in San Juan, the main city of the island of Puerto Rico and the villages nearby, fires suddenly broke out one after another. The police initially thought it was the work of a man with a morbid incidence of arson. But they could not find a pyromaniac. And only later, based on many testimonies, the detectives concluded that strange birds were the cause of many fires. According to eyewitnesses, they had huge, four-meter-wide wings, and instead of feathers, their bodies were covered with numerous tongues of fire.

The fact that unknown forms of life live in the atmosphere are also indicated by the cases of mass death of birds.

So, in May 1917, the streets of the city of Baton Rouge in America, located in the state of Louisiana, unexpectedly turned out to be strewn with a huge number of dead birds, falling from the sky for several minutes. At the same time, traces of strange burns were clearly visible on the bodies of many birds!

Almost the same incident happened in August 1960 near Capitol Beach (America, California). Many dead birds also fell from the sky that day. Scientists have not found the cause of the mass death of birds.

After analyzing these and similar cases, the researcher of anomalous phenomena Charles Fort from America made the assumption that creatures live in the Earth's atmosphere, with their appearance and consistency similar to sea jellyfish. They have stings and tentacles with which to hunt birds.

For a long time, none of the serious researchers believed in such a version, because it absolutely did not correspond to the basic concepts of living organisms. But observations carried out by scientists in recent decades have shown that amazing and even mysterious objects appear at an altitude of 50 to 100 kilometers. They differ in shape, color and size, and therefore have different names: elves, sprites, blue jets, etc.

They are practically invisible, because they appear only for thousandths of a second. And only with the help of modern photographic and video equipment installed on spacecraft, it is possible to record these incredible structures.

Earlier, pilots reported about night ghosts. But few believed them. It was only in the 70s of the last century that real confirmation of the existence of unknown luminous objects in the "near space" was obtained. So, elves resemble huge red rings. Sprites, or fairies, look like blue jellyfish, and tigers, or tigers, look like red ones. Blue jets, sometimes referred to as gnomes, appear as blue fountains.

Each of the species of these heavenly creatures takes its place in the sky: the gnomes are below, a little higher are red-purple sprites, and above them are elves hovering in the sky - the most short-lived among these exotic objects.

In addition, the astronauts of the space shuttle Columbia (USA), which burned down during the landing on February 1, 2003, also tried to film the incredible "celestial ghosts". One of them, probably a tiger, was noticed by the researchers in the footage that was transmitted to Earth a few days before the tragedy. The object's red glow, captured by the camera, lasted for a split second. It was located approximately over Madagascar at an altitude of 150 kilometers. Therefore, today it is very difficult to immediately refute the stories about the fire birds. Who knows, what if they actually exist.
