An elderly lady said that she was frightened by a tall, dark-skinned man who moved towards her from the inside of the cemetery gate while she was walking in the evening with her dog.

And only when her pet began to howl and tried to hide, the woman looked up higher and saw a figure with flaming eyes. In a matter of seconds, the frightened vampire disappeared from sight inside the cemetery.
The British Psychic Society visited the cemetery on a bright day, and found that some of the "vaults" of the dead were dug, containing mutilated open coffins. In one of the graves, one could see the remains of a skeleton literally torn out of the coffin.
Strange, but the body of a freshly deceased fox was also found here. The corpse was lying right in the middle of the main road and caused bewilderment, because there were no external signs of death.

Highgate Cemetery is the abode of the living dead.
A proper investigation into otherworldly phenomena began in January 1970, when experts began checking the history of the cemetery. And some interesting things saw the light. As it became known, the appearance of the Highgate Cemetery dates back to the Victorian era, and surprisingly enough, vampires have already been heard here.
Perhaps the reason for this was that Bram Stoker himself was influenced by the existence of “something” in Highgate Cemetery. When he wrote Dracula's story, he pointed out a direct reference to Highgate Cemetery as the final resting place of one of Count Dracula's followers.
Stoker may have been influenced by the mysterious incident of Elizabeth Siddal, who died in 1855 and was buried in Highgate Cemetery. Fuss and rumors around the deceased led to the fact that in 1862 her body was exhumed.
Witness to the event, Charles Augustus Howell, spoke of an impressive sight: the woman's body remained incorrupt, with a lush shock of red and gold hair filling the coffin. Shocked by what they saw, people suggested one thing - Elizabeth was not buried dead. - Of course, such a case intensified the wave of rumors about vampires and people laid in a coffin alive, in a state of lethargic sleep.
Researchers also discovered another fact of great importance, possibly providing a key to understanding mystical phenomena. Intelligence and photographs taken in the cemetery confirmed, without a doubt, that some satanic groups were holding their activities here.
- In particular, one of the old graves, hidden in the depths of the cemetery, turned into a small temple, and judging by the pentagram and magic symbols on the floor and walls, the place was often used by Satanists.
Within a month of research, the situation finally became more complicated. There were rumors of a female vampire emerging from the coffin. And then the dead foxes appeared, but this time the animals had bites. Some TV channels tried to go to the cemetery with night shots, although they were refused by the cemetery director.
It even got to the point that masses of people came to the cemetery in the evening with a stake in their hands - to conduct a ritual ritual of murder, in general, the already dead vampire.
To prevent big excesses, the police intervened in the case, arresting a member of the society of psychics, David Farrant, for walking inside the cemetery at night with a wooden stake overweight.
