Prominent ufologist Scott K. Waring even whistled when he read a report sent to the World UFO Network (MUFON) by a man from Palm Springs, California, in the eastern United States.
An eyewitness said that he went out into the courtyard on the evening of February 4, 2017 to check the surveillance camera, and noticed that something unusual was happening on Mount San Bernandino, which is located right in front of his house.
“I like looking at a mountain when there is snow and the light of the moon falling on it,” wrote an eyewitness in his report. "At first I saw a helicopter flying over the top of the mountain."
The man thought that probably the rescuers received a message about the missing tourists. He really saw a spot of light from a searchlight on the side of the mountain and realized that the helicopter was looking for someone.
A local resident who served as a physician in the US Marine Corps said that in his lifetime he had seen many different helicopters, so he returned to the house to grab a telescope and see what was happening on the mountain.
“It seemed that the helicopter was only interested in one specific location. When I zoomed in, I saw a large red ball on the ground. For some reason, the helicopter did not direct the light to the object, but all the time it was shining next to it and behind it,”wrote a local resident, who, despite the early twilight, could see everything well.
The helicopter hovered 120 meters above the mountain for quite a long time, that the man managed to exchange several comments with his wife who approached and moved the tripod with the telescope closer to the mountain. The couple suggested that perhaps the commotion was caused by the plane crash at the top.
Suddenly the red ball changed its color. It turned white, then light blue and red again. And then he changed his shape. The ball became flattened like a pancake and took off to the right of the helicopter in a northerly direction. Then the UFO stopped and turned south and disappeared.

“It didn't fly too fast, I could keep it in the field of view of the telescope and see its lights, two bright red in the front and back and a small white on the side. When it took off, it took on a triangular shape. Everything happened like in a fairy tale and completely silent, - said an eyewitness and added that after the UFO disappeared behind the ridge, a group of people with powerful flashlights continued to climb the mountainside to that place. But because of the deep snow, they moved very slowly.
However, not only the Palm Springs couple were shocked to observe the unusual hunt of helicopter pilots for the red ball.
Wow! I would really like to be in Palm Springs to see this UFO,”- it seems that if Scott Waring had been informed of this early, he would have rushed to California without hesitation.
