Each city has its own myths and legends. Let's get acquainted with the legends of Kaliningrad.
Mystical legends usually do not develop from scratch, there are always some objective prerequisites. The history of the Kaliningrad area, according to objective historical sources, begins in 1255, when the knights of the Teutonic Order built the defensive fortress of Konigsberg, which translates as "royal mountain". Since then, the territory has changed owners many times. These lands became Russian twice - from 1758 to 1762. (after victory in the Seven Years War, then they were returned to Prussia) and from 1946 after the victory over Nazi Germany to the present.
The Kaliningrad region is famous for amber and peat deposits, reserves of salts, clay, medicinal waters, etc. The city of Baltiysk is of strategic importance for the Russian Navy. Local residents and tourists highly appreciate the quality of dairy products produced by Zalessky Farmer.
The most famous places: Cathedral, Royal Gate, Fish Village, Museum of the World Ocean, 5 Fort, Zoo, etc.
One of the main mysterious sights, of course, is the Cathedral, which was founded in 1333, completed around 1380. In subsequent years, it was rebuilt and restored many times. It was severely damaged in 1944, when British bombers fired at the cathedral along with local residents hiding in it. Only in 2005 was it completely restored. Now the building is used as a religious and cultural complex, inside which there are not only religious objects, but also an organ and a museum. Near the cathedral is the grave of the famous world thinker - Immanuel Kant. Guards and some locals say there is at least 1 ghost soldier walking around the cathedral.
There is a lot of controversy about the grave of I. Kant - some still do not believe that it is his body that lies under the slabs. An interesting fact - the grave is surrounded by 13 columns, which is a rather atypical architectural solution.
On the spire of the cathedral there is a mermaid, in whose hands a bugle, it is believed that by this she protects local sailors from other sirens - does not allow to lure.

For a long time there was a legend that there is an underground city near Kaliningrad, which appeared during the Second World War, that all strategic buildings and many courtyards were interconnected, however, in spite of individual finds, it was not possible to confirm the guess.
The presence of ghosts is also attributed to the Fifth Fort and the remains of castles in the Kaliningrad region.
In a sense, the whole of Kaliningrad can be considered atmospheric and mystical; everyone should visit it, at least as a cultural and historical city-monument.
