The exhibition "Sharks of Prehistoric Times" will open in the city of Aatal and will mainly be devoted to the megalodon. The museum staff managed to collect the most complete of all existing skeletons of an extinct predator - its dimensions are truly amazing.

The fact is that these creatures belong to the class of cartilaginous fish. Cartilage is very quickly destroyed after the death of the body, so the complete fossilized skeleton of the megalodon simply does not exist in nature.

But the researchers were incredibly lucky to find a fragment of the skeleton 4.5 meters long. It was found in Peru, and on the basis of these remains they recreated the real appearance of an ancient monster.

Megalodon became extinct two million years ago. This shark grew up to 20 meters in length and was the largest ocean predator. Some believe that several megalodons survived the Ice Age and are still hiding somewhere in the ocean depths.
