Everyone who has been to Malta, in addition to the azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea and the beautiful local beaches, certainly got acquainted with the unique Maltese sights, among which the ancient stone ruts remain a great mystery of history, it is not known by whom and for what purpose they were created here. The network of these prehistoric roads called Misrah Ghar il-Kbir (Misrah Gar Il-Kbir) is more popularly referred to as the Cloughham junction, that is, as the British once called them, comparing them with the London railway station of the same name with its “confusing” rail network.

The mysterious stone ruts of Malta, which most densely "weave their network" near the Dungley cliffs, which are located in the southeast of the island state, presumably, were clearly visible throughout the modern history of this state, but for a long time for some reason nobody did not pay attention.

However, for many decades now scientists have been puzzling over this mystery of Malta. Presumably, these stone paths were formed no earlier than 4 thousand years ago (although there is no agreement among researchers in determining the age of this artifact). But what is surprising is that at this time there was a Bronze Age on the island archipelago (at least, that's what the official history "says"). That is why it is difficult to even guess who and why created these mysterious tracks, very similar to the railway ones, since they are also clearly calibrated in terms of the distance between the furrows, they also intersect at angles, they also connect - just like modern branches of railways.

Some of the tracks go under the water, moreover, they pass along the bottom of the bay and appear on the other side of it, which suggests that during the creation of these "megalithic structures" the surface of the islands was different. Scientists have put forward several theories of the origin of stone furrows. The most generally accepted idea is that these tracks are traces of ancient carts. However, many researchers, especially independent ones, believe that such a theory by orthodox scientists is far-fetched. First, how heavy should these carts be? Secondly, the depth of the furrows, on average, is about 60 centimeters, which makes us talk about wheels with a diameter of one and a half meters, which is simply unlikely for that era.

In addition, geological figures in the form of rectangles and triangles can be found next to the stone furrows of Misrah Ghar il-Kbir. All this suggests that the tracks were not created at all for driving, and not even for irrigating fields (another theory of their origin, the most incredible, I must say), but for some other, as yet incomprehensible to us, purposes. And again - by whom?.. People of the Bronze Age could not build such "roads"! Indeed, 4 thousand years ago, even a culture comparable to that of the ancient Egyptian did not exist in Malta; apparently, half-savage tribes lived here. Why do they need all this? And how could they, purely physically, “paint” their land with stone furrows, so amazing in structure, depth and fantastic purpose? A mystery, however …
