On September 19, 1961, Barney (1922-1969) and Betty Hill (1919-2004) were returning from vacation. These were middle-aged people with a stable income. And they lived a quiet, calm life.
Strange story
It was at night. The Hill couple were returning home from their trip to Montreal, Canada. To Portsmouth, New Hampshire, USA. The road to the house ran through the wooded White Mountains.
At some point, both travelers saw a bright light in the sky. Right under the moon. It seemed to both of them that this light source was following their car. However, this fact did not cause concern. The couple thought it was just an airplane or satellite.
However, the subject persisted in pursuing the vehicle. And then Barney decided to look at the light source through binoculars. It turned out that in fact a strange-looking apparatus was floating in the sky. It was a flying saucer with huge windows. And she was clearly not from this planet. Through the large windows of the ship, Barney Hill saw humanoid creatures. They steered the ship by manipulating long levers. To Barney's dismay, some of these creatures were smiling. And they looked directly at him. In an effort to escape this ominous situation, Barney increased the speed of the car to maximum … and then dawn came, and the couple were almost at home …

And so she began to believe that she and Barney had definitely been kidnapped during their trip. And moved aboard the spaceship.

Under hypnosis, Betty was able to draw a map that the eldest of the aliens allegedly showed her. The woman had a very dim understanding of what was actually drawn on her. She reported this after the end of the hypnosis session. However, some enthusiasts believe that the drawing depicts stars and planets. This sketch was even published in many books and magazines.
In the late 1960s, a curious teacher named Marjorie Fish tried to compare the map with the location of nearby stars. And see if the data matches. In fact, it was not an easy task. Because there are about a thousand stars within 50 light years of the Sun. To make things easier, Fish made a number of reasonable assumptions based on the fact that aliens were quite human-like. And I decided that their home planet is also very similar to Earth. Of course, her conclusions were based on the data that was known at the time.

After sifting out the unsuitable stars, according to Fish, there were only 46 of them. Using data from the Gliese Catalog of Nearby Stars, released in 1969, Fish carefully built several three-dimensional models of the solar stellar environment from wire and beads for almost five years. She looked at them from every possible angle, hoping to find a structure that matched Betty Hill's map. It was a long and very difficult process. And in the end, the persevering woman found an almost perfect match! Betty Hill's map accurately depicted the stars next to our Sun! They all lie approximately in the same plane. And it turned out that the aliens, most likely, came to us from the Zeta Grid system!
This system consists of two G-type sun-like stars and is 39.5 light-years distant from us. The distance between the stars of the system is about 0.06 light years. This is far enough for each of them to have their own planetary system. From a planet around one star, another star would look brilliantly bright. About 30 times brighter than Venus in Earth's sky. But it remained unclear which of the two was the alien's native star.
After finding a matching configuration, Fish decided that the story of Barney and Betty Hill was one hundred percent true!
However, after a few decades, when people learned to measure the distances between stars more accurately, it turned out that many of the old data are not correct … And the stars are actually at completely different distances from each other.
Therefore, it is clear that Betty Hill's drawing is in no way evidence of alien contact. However, in fact, until now, no one knows what happened to Barney and Betty that distant September night. After all, the drawing was created under hypnosis. So the woman saw him somewhere.
