We talk and hear a lot about the secrets of the depths of the sea, about the monsters that hide there, but we forget that we ourselves live at the bottom of a huge and little-studied ocean. It's called the atmosphere. It seems that this world is simple and understandable - after all, it is always above our heads. And the only danger threatening us is sudden precipitation. However, we are mistaken. The air ocean above us is as mysterious as any other - Atlantic, Pacific or Indian.
Horror of heights
“Our world is very weakly protected from the terrible and sudden danger threatening it. There is also a jungle in the upper atmosphere, and they are inhabited by beings worse than tigers. This hypothesis was expressed in a fantastic story by the famous English writer Arthur Conan Doyle under the characteristic title "The Horror of the Heights", first published in 1913. The hero of the story, pilot Joyce-Armstrong, was attacked and torn to pieces by monsters living in the upper layers of the atmosphere. The terrible truth was helped to reveal his notebook, found among the slime-covered wreckage of the plane.
Conan Doyle imagined these monsters to be composed of a gelatinous substance. They had two eyes and a beak, and were kept in the air with the help of dorsal bladders filled with light gas. The writer also cites data on the size of the celestial monsters: each of them was several hundred square feet. It would seem that it is a common fiction, but some strange disasters make one wonder: is there a certain amount of scientific foresight in Conan Doyle's fantasies?
In 1939, a military transport aircraft took off from the airfield in San Diego, making a regular flight to the Hawaiian Islands. Three hours after takeoff, radio operators received distress signals from him. Then the transmitter was silent. But soon from the control tower in San Diego they saw the ill-fated plane returning to the airfield. He barely reached the runway and landed on the bottom without releasing the landing gear. When rescuers arrived at the emergency landing site, they saw a terrible picture. Although the cabin itself remained unscathed, everything inside was covered in blood. The pilot and flight engineer lay dead. The lacerations on their bodies looked like sharks had attacked the aviators. The co-pilot, who brought the plane to the airfield, was dying of blood loss. He passed away without a word. On closer inspection, it was foundthat the floor of the cabin was littered with spent cartridges. Not a single cartridge remained in the pistols of the dead. There was a heavy smell of hydrogen sulfide on the plane.
A quarter of a century later, two pilots flew in a small private jet from Nome, Alaska. A few hours later, the voice of one of them sounded on the air: “Help! Help! A blinding light surrounds us! Both motors failed! This creature …”Here the connection was suddenly cut off. It was not possible to find an explanation for what happened. The aircraft disappeared without a trace.
On September 8, 1970, an F-94 military aircraft disappeared in the night sky over Beanbrook (England). Shortly before his disappearance, the radar operator received a very strange message from the pilot, Captain Schaeffner: “I have eye contact … It is something vague, without a clear outline. It is a bluish light. Damn, well, brightness! Very bright … I'm next to him now. It's a cone … Hey wait, there's something else here! It looks like a big soccer ball made of glass … Maybe there is a magnetic relationship between it and the cone. There is a glowing haze. Yellow. One second … He turns. Heading straight for me … making a maneuver to stray … I can firm … The connection was cut. Only two months later, Scheffner's plane was found at the bottom of the North Sea. It looked intact, as if someone had gently lowered it under water. However, the strangest thing wasthat the ejection seat remained in the cockpit, but … there were no signs of a person!

Heavenly creatures
The history of aviation and aircraft accidents knows many cases of aircraft being destroyed and crashed for no apparent reason. Some of these incidents were explained as the result of inept (and sometimes just criminal) actions of the crew, but over the years information has accumulated about completely mysterious disasters.
The maximum of such events occurred during the Second World War. For the first time in the history of mankind, tens of thousands of aircraft of various designs and purposes took off. Unexplained cases have also become more frequent. It got to the point that in the pilots' folklore there appeared little evil men - gremlins, destroying aircraft engines out of "natural harm".
However, nobody managed to see the gremlins in reality. But the Italian researcher Luciano Boccone claims that he was able to photograph invisible under normal lighting creatures that simply overwhelm the space around us. Bokcone christened them "critters", which means "creatures". Imechko is more than appropriate, because the pictures capture clusters of translucent monsters with fanged mouths and clawed paws. The anomaly specialist disagrees about the nature of the critters. Some believe that these are special "ethereal forms of life", others tend to see in their fears the embodiment of people's nightmares, and someone defends the idea of parallel worlds, whose inhabitants become visible to us under certain conditions. Of course, none of these hypotheses received official recognition.
Whatever it was, but critters are directly related to the issue we are discussing. These are clearly living creatures moving in space without the help of mechanical devices. They are not perceived by our senses and, apparently, are very dangerous if the confluence of some circumstances unknown to us leads to a direct collision of a man and a monster.
Angel hair
Unidentified flying objects (UFOs) do not appear to be living beings. Our imagination tells us that these are, most likely, some kind of flying machines - the creation of the hands of intelligent beings. However, imagination is not the best tool for analyzing facts. The latter, in turn, say that UFOs often behave like living beings, and not like objects of artificial origin.
For example, UFOs can leave behind strange-looking discharge called "angel hair". This is a kind of gelatinous cobweb-like substance that falls to the ground after the flight of the "plate". According to the data given in the book of the famous ufologist and popularizer of science Siegel "UFO sightings in the Soviet Union", "angel hair" sometimes covers the earth with a rather dense layer, but after a few hours disappear without a trace. When you touch them with your hands, they turn into lumps of radioactive mucus with a distinct smell of hydrogen sulfide.
Academician Petryanov-Sokolov, director of the Institute of Physical Chemistry, gave the following conclusion on the samples of "angel hair" at one time: "The sample is of interest as a very fine-fibrous substance and has no analogues in terrestrial nature."
There is another case of laboratory analysis of this phenomenon. On October 27, 1954, during a training session of the Fiorentina football club at a stadium in Florence, several oval luminous bodies appeared over the city, performing zigzag maneuvers. When they disappeared, strange snow began to fall to the ground, resembling tousled shiny cotton wool. People tried to catch the threads with their hands, but they instantly melted. One of the fans who were present at the stadium guessed to wind the threads on a stick, then put them in a jar and took them to the chemical laboratory of his university. It turned out that "angel hair" is composed of a strange combination of boron, silicon, calcium and magnesium.
Amazing metamorphosis
In addition to the ability to leave behind a discharge, UFOs have a number of other features that indicate their biological nature. One of the most unusual properties of UFOs is their strange transformations. They are expressed in changes in shape and size or in division into parts with the subsequent flight of each part separately (reproduction by division?), And sometimes, on the contrary, with the combination of several objects into one. Here are some examples.
In March 1959, an unknown object was observed hovering over the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw. The object looked like two spheres of different diameters connected by a cylinder. Then it turned into a disk and withdrew towards Mlocin, but soon returned back and took its former form.
A rather strange incident occurred in December 1969 near the village of Lyzovo, Perm region, where two luminous ellipses appeared above the edge of the forest near the oil rig. They increased in size and merged into one ball, on both sides of which, as if on one "crossbar", two small balls appeared. All this luminous "dumbbell" 10-15 meters long flew 100 meters from the rig. A spark flashed in the middle sphere and soon turned into a disk slightly smaller than the visible moon, but brighter than it. Then, instead of three regular-shaped balls, only one rather loose structure with a disc in the middle became visible, and after a few seconds the disc disappeared, and the shapeless ball disappeared behind the horizon.
A repeated shape change was recorded in a UFO flying over Estonia in June 1975. Appearing over Tallinn, it initially had the shape of a silvery triangle, but then turned into a ball and flew east. Above Kehra, it looked like a triangular pyramid, and above Aigvidu it acquired a T-shape and seemed transparent. Above Rakvere it was in the form of a cylinder, and above Kohtla-Järve it was in the form of an egg in an upright position. Then he flew to Narva and, with the onset of darkness, shone brightly. The altitude of the UFO flight was about 18 kilometers. The object was moving against or perpendicular to the direction of the wind.
Sometimes observers had the impression that objects before their eyes were increasing or decreasing in size. So, in the fall of 1978 in Alupka, three witnesses for 15 minutes observed a motionless orange ball, which became either larger (reached the size of the moon), sometimes smaller (turning into a point). Suddenly, a small luminous ball approached him and joined with it, after which the large ball stopped changing its size and flared brightly, and after 5 minutes it began to decrease and disappeared.
Reproductive ability
There are many known cases when, in front of eyewitnesses, UFOs seemed to be divided into two or more parts, which then flew in different directions.
In September 1980, 200 miles south-west of Gibraltar, members of the crew of the research vessel "Victor Bugaev" observed a white cigar-shaped object hovering over the stern with a black stripe, from which two yellow rays emanated. Before the eyes of eyewitnesses, this object was divided into two parts, one flew to the northeast, and the other to the northwest. All observation lasted 4 minutes and recorded in the logbook.
The Izvestia newspaper of March 23, 1988 described how a few days ago - March 18 - the crew and passengers of a Chinese plane flying from Beijing to Urumqi observed an unknown object that looked like a basketball. Initially, it moved towards the liner, but soon changed its direction of flight and split into two parts. They rotated at high speed, and then moved away from each other. The entire observation lasted 13 minutes.
And here is an absolutely incredible description. In November 1968, in the French Alps, Dr. X. saw two completely identical discs with a diameter of about 65 meters and a height of 16 meters, which at low altitude approached the house. Their tops were silvery white, while their undersides were red. The discs rotated around their vertical axes and flashed every second. Then they began to close the distance between themselves, until they finally merged into one disk. He flew up to the house and stood "on the edge", directing a beam of light at Dr. X.. An explosion immediately rang out, and the UFO disappeared.
In February 1974, in Valeni Munt (Romania), ten girls from an orphanage watched as two motionless glowing orange spheres slowly approached each other and merged into one ellipsoidal object with a diameter of about 7 meters, which increased its speed and disappeared.
In February 1979, under the city of Gorky, one could see how two luminous objects, leaving behind silver plumes, merged into one.
And here are the observations of specialists. In July 1977, in Baku, astronomer Tikhonov, through a telescope, noticed a yellow-green object moving at a high altitude, which, after making two stops, split into two halves. After a few seconds, one of these halves also split into two parts, each division accompanied by an explosion. Soon one of the small parts joined the whole half and then moved back to its previous position. Then all three parts came close without connecting, and after a while they parted again and disappeared from sight.
In April 1964, near Homer, New York, a physiologist and four bystanders saw an elongated submarine-like object in the sky. A flash flashed from its tail section, it lunged forward, but suddenly stopped. A bulge appeared in the middle of the object, and it also quickly darted back. Suddenly he stopped, began to shorten, acquiring the shape of a saucer with a thickening at the end. Then it became completely round and divided horizontally into two halves. After that, the upper half began to recede, and the lower half began to descend at an angle of 45 degrees to the horizon. It also split into two parts, with the upper part of the oval shape disappearing in the distance, and the lower one taking the form of a vertical rod, which also soon evaporated.
Ufologists have failed to find a suitable explanation for such transformations. This is understandable, because he believes that a UFO is an artificial object, and in terrestrial technology there are no analogies to the effects that flying saucers demonstrate to us. However, wait to imagine that UFOs have a living nature, how much becomes clear. We can observe all these metamorphoses through a microscope installed above the Petri dish where a colony of the most common bacteria lives and develops.
So, we can assume that people who observed unidentified flying objects witnessed the manifestations of the vital activity of some animals, not yet known to science, living in the upper layers of the atmosphere. And, at least, this hypothesis is no worse than the one according to which UFOs are ships of alien aliens.
