Can we talk about the intelligence or intelligence of this invisible but real being of the subtle world? In the antics and pogroms arranged by him, it is easier to notice not a manifestation of reason, but rather its absence.
However, the very degree of rationality or unreasonableness can be different. After all, we say that monkeys, dolphins, elephants, dogs and even crows also have intelligence. For example, after the gorillas and chimpanzees taught the "language" of the deaf and dumb, they began to compose entire phrases and express their feelings. Naturally, man has an immeasurably large intelligence, and the best representatives of humanity with an unusually developed intellect are considered the pinnacle of intelligence in our scale.
On this scale, scientists have tried to measure the intelligence of a poltergeist. In some cases, the expert group was able to establish contact with the "little drums", which made it possible to get answers to questions of interest and conduct interesting experiments.
One of the first contacts happened in 1989 with a certain restless spirit named Vasya. From the son of the landlady, 14-year-old Dima, the researchers learned that Vasya accompanies him to school and even helps him to study. Even if the boy did not learn the lesson, he still had the right answer. This phenomenal ability of Dima soon became known to the director of the school, who told the scientists about the unique case.
Such unexpected help in studies indicates a fairly high intelligence of the poltergeist. Therefore, it was decided to conduct an experiment: the student was first asked to solve the equation, and then to calculate the integral. Both times he gave the right answer instantly!
We tried to ask questions in foreign languages. Vasya understood everything perfectly. However, at the next session, they found out that questions can be asked not even orally, but mentally, without saying aloud. Further, to determine the knowledge and abilities of the poltergeist, the examiners asked him to discharge the galvanic battery or reduce its voltage. For the experiment, a manganese-zinc three-cell battery KBLS with a voltage of 4.5 V.
We put two batteries on the table and measured the voltage with a tester. By that time there were two spirits: Vasya and Vasilisa. They communicated like this: "out of nowhere" a voice was heard that many people heard and even recorded on a tape recorder. So, Vasya replied: “To reduce the battery voltage, complex physical and chemical processes are required, this will take 15-20 minutes”.

When communicating with Vasilisa, the researchers made sure that she is well versed in the schemes and designs of cameras, flashlights and tape recorders. Many times she was able, acting on the equipment, not to allow photographing and recording. For example, when the camera shutter button was pressed, the shutter was fired normally, and the flash only after a few seconds. When the "Record" button was turned on, the tape recorder stopped working, but as soon as we went out into the next room with it, the cassette began to rotate normally.
An interesting incident occurred when the experimenters tried to record Vasilisa's voice. The tape was not new, with a recording of an American singer. But none of the researchers knew about it or remembered. And suddenly Vasilisa said: "Why are you spoiling a good recording?" In other words, a poltergeist is able to read a recording from a magnetic tape without listening on a tape recorder. An amazing way to get information!
Researchers have also made sure that the "drummer" is well versed in TV circuits. It happened in St. Petersburg at the metro station "Chernaya Rechka". So, we can definitely consider a poltergeist reasonable, and equal in reason to an educated person. But at the same time, it is far from the highest mind.
