My last article was devoted to the theory of time travel that I found in old diaries from 1985. I published its main paragraph, which described the principle itself, which provides bypassing the paradoxes associated with displacement. Without reading this paragraph, you will not understand the meaning of this article, so I strongly advise you to first follow the link above.

In addition to the main paragraph, the theory also includes several secondary ones, where, without delving into the principles of internal implementation, in general terms various auxiliary devices are described that serve to carry out movements.

One of such devices is the Time Machine Returner or Attractor (PMA). This device serves to re-enter the same branch from which the time machine has already exited.

Note that the author distinguishes between two types of time machines. One type of car is a powerful car for long-distance travel for several centuries, inside which you need to enter, like into a car. The second type is pocket cars, which the author calls "time relays". Their power is enough for travel within one century. Therefore, in the context of pocket cars, the author of the diary does not have PMV, but PRV (Time Relay Attractor).

However, it is more correct to call such devices, I think, still PMV.

Returner

Promotional video:

If we return from the timeline to the trunk, in our time, and after that we want to penetrate the same branch where, for example, we have built a house, then we need, it would seem, to descend along the time trunk to the required level, to the required seconds, that's all.

But we will no longer see our house. Everything will be the same as it was before our visit to this time, because, having materialized, like last time, we created a second branch growing from almost the same point in time as the first:

We will not get into the required branch because no matter how hard we try to get into this branch, there will still be some deviations.

In order for the time machine to return to the abandoned branch, the traveler must leave the Returner (Attractor of the Time Machine) branch at the current time. This device, as it were, directs the time machine, which has descended to the level of the beginning of the branch, into the branch, just as it happens when docking spaceships:

The longer the branch and the less accurate the time machine, the more power is needed for the Returner. In this case, the Returner and the time machine must be created in the same branch or trunk. If the time machine is made in one branch, and the Returner is in another, then they will not see each other.

Returner

With very long lengths of branches, a transit return device, which is fixed in time, is placed in them near the entrance to the branch. They are constantly outside matter and spend additional energy on their immobility in time.

Corridor (or corridor)

A kind of transitory return, which remains motionless in time exactly at the point of materialization.

The difference between it and the transit return unit is that its energy consumption for staying in existence motionless in time is significantly lower, since its hanging in time is based on other principles. But it can be delivered only at the moment of primary materialization. The device and maintenance of the Corridors and the transit returns are much more complicated than the device of a conventional return line operating at the current time of the branch.

Probe

If the branch does not have a Returner, then the opportunity to enter it still exists. For this, a much more complex and sensitive device is used - the Probe. At the heart of this device is a highly sensitive sensor, which, descending into the past, detects time inhomogeneities and backgrounds of specific radiations, which are a consequence of the presence of branch origins. The longer the branch, the more powerful its background and the more noticeable the time distortion in the trunk. The probe identifies the branch and helps the time machine enter it.
