Time Travel - Meeting the Past

"The Lord of Time" - this is how a rather interesting and colorful Japanese full-length animation was called on the posters of cinemas, which attracted a lot of viewers. This was an example of science fiction, where, among other things, one of the paradoxical possibilities was considered, which was realized under the assumption that time travel was possible!

We have touched on this very difficult issue due to the fact that there are a number of researchers and ufologists (as well as eniologists) who believe that the UFO (UFO) is “simply” a Time Machine!

Hence, in particular, it turns out that the "aliens" are ours, distant descendants! So to speak, relatives! Here, for example, V. Kratochvil wrote so directly:

“… From the point of view of technology, our civilization cannot be of interest to space civilizations, since our knowledge is small, technology is primitive, and regarding the level of morality, the author leaves this sad question to the reader's judgment. But together with all the problems and shortcomings, with all our history, we are of colossal interest for our descendants."

This is an interesting topic - a conversation about the Time Machine! At one time, in the article "Myths, Legends and Space" V. Zaitsev noted that the ancients fully admitted the relativity of the passage of time, which is confirmed by the saying: "God has a minute - the human age." Further V. Zaitsev said:

"… and in Psalm 89 (verse 5) with the words:" Before your eyes (God) a thousand years are like a day. " In ancient times and in the Middle Ages, there was a concept in Christian literature that time flows slower in the sky than on Earth. In the apocrypha "Vision of Isaiah" (second or third century AD) we read about how the prophet Isaiah, doubting the greatness of "God" and the truth of his faith, by the will of "God" was taken to heaven. In heaven, seeing all the "greatness of the eternal", Isaiah repented of his doubts. Then the angel, who was "assigned" to Isaiah, decided to bring him back to Earth. Isaiah pleaded, “Why so soon? After all, I've only been here for two hours."

To which the angel replied: "Not 2 hours, but 32 years." Poor Isaiah realized that returning to Earth would mean for him either death or deep old age: after all, he did not notice that he had aged thirty-two years in heaven.

Promotional video:

"Why should I return to my decrepit flesh?" - and insulted Isaiah greatly. But the angel consoled him: "Do not grieve, you will not be old."

But are there any cases that can be used as a movement in time in the opposite direction?

Researchers are well aware of the existence of a number of strange cases. Here, for example, one of them was cited by V. Kratochwil:

1975 - In No. 41 the Swiss weekly Weltwohe reported a mysterious incident at the American airport in Miami (Florida) when a National Airlines plane with 127 passengers on board, approaching the airport from the Atlantic Ocean, suddenly disappeared from the radar screen … The alarm sounded in Miami. To search for the disappeared airliner, other radars were connected.

But 10 minutes later, when the search planes were already ready to take off, the airliner again appeared on the screen as if nothing had happened (according to the operator, "as if it had crystallized out of thin air") and landed safely. The crew was surprised by the turmoil on the ground. As they believed, nothing out of the ordinary on the flight happened. Meanwhile, a thorough check showed that, without exception, the clocks on board the aircraft (both mechanical and electronic) lagged behind exactly 10 minutes!"

It was also noted that the time reconciliation conducted half an hour earlier by radio did not reveal any chronical discrepancies!

Note that in this case, ten minutes were "lost". But there was no situation in which the plane would be observed at some point in the sky BEFORE the moment when it should have been there! Indeed, only in this case it would be possible to discuss the topic of "time travel"! And without this it makes sense to talk only about "gaps in time" or "gaps in space - time."

Is there any data, even if at least indirectly confirming the possibility of the existence of the "Time Machine"?

We will not indulge in abstract theoretical reflections, but will analyze some facts cited by various authors.

For example, what cases are mentioned by K. Butusov in his interesting article "Are meetings with the past possible?" ("UFO", No. 1, 1998):

“Several years ago, a group of tourists, who was on the banks of the Volga, watched as on the other side of the river suddenly arose an ancient castle, surrounded by a fortress wall, over which the domes of churches were gilded! The city gates were closed, and a guard in armor, armed with bows and spears, walked along the wall. The city slowly faded into haze and disappeared.

Local residents claim that a city called Kitezh often appears here, as if it rises from the bottom of the river, and after 10 - 15 minutes. sinks to the bottom again."

This situation can be assessed in different ways. First, the option of a "window" to another world is not excluded. Precisely "windows", because local residents did not report cases of disappearances. There are no people from "there" either.

Secondly, the possibility of observing a certain “phantom” of a truly purely earthly city that existed sometime in the past is quite plausible. It would be interesting to know, every time observers see the same repeating "picture" or different "pictures"?

The case, to be sure, is very curious, but there is no certainty that there is a "bridge" to the real past! Here's another case:

“1929 - four Americans stopped to dine in the city of Rabasten, department of Tarn (France). They were surprised by the antique interior of the hotel restaurant. The staff were dressed in the fashion of the turn of the century, and a 1903 number of Figaro was on the table at the entrance. The travelers felt that they were in a hotel where the atmosphere of the good old days was created to attract customers. True, the absence of other visitors was surprising, but the service was excellent, and the dinner turned out to be extremely tasty. But, finding themselves here a few days later, they found a boarded-up, crumbling house without glass in several surviving frames."

Of course, this turned out to be the very building that, as the city hall explained to them, is gradually being destroyed over the course of many decades.

In this case, can we assume that the Americans have done (even in the most inexplicable way) "time travel"? Well, if, say, the reader likes just such an assumption and only that, then of course! But the analyst-ufologist will put forward, in addition to this, also other versions.

For example, that the given case is an argument in favor of the assumption of the existence of a "parallel" and at the same time "identical" to our world! Because in this case there was physical contact at the gastronomic level! This is all the more pertinent assumption that the Americans paid off with money that did not circulate at the beginning of the century!

But the waiter accepted the money and was not even surprised. K. Butusov makes the conclusion from this that “guests from the future” have visited this hotel several times.

I think, however, that there are better explanations. For example, the author of these lines is inclined to see in this case something like a “theater” organized by “strangers”, perhaps simply for the purpose of checking, that is, whether the earthlings will notice something is wrong or not! And how they will react to it.

Or such a case:

“1951 - a young Belgian woman, Bernadette Laurel, entered a small park with large centuries-old trees. Suddenly Laurel noticed a small church, although she could have sworn that 15 minutes ago it was not visible here!

The surprised girl went straight to the church, crossed the alley, stepped over the curb … and ended up in the cemetery! The contrast was stunning: just around there were park paths sprinkled with sand, mown lawns … and suddenly - rickety crosses, thickets of weeds!

At that moment the funeral procession appeared. Everyone was dressed in some kind of pathetic rags that Laurel had never seen anywhere before. Overwhelmed with fear, she started to run.

It turned out that before the French Revolution, the poor were buried in this place. Later the cemetery was abandoned, and at the end of the last century a park was laid out here.

This case was dealt with by P. Deshan, an assistant at the Department of Neurology and Psychiatry, University of Marseille. He, examining Laurel, suggested that there was a real phenomenon of penetration from the past. But because these were people from the lower strata of society, it would have been difficult for them to "adapt" to the 20th century.

It is quite natural that the option was considered that the participants in the funeral procession, by some miracle slipped from their time into the XX century, and remained in it. That is why Deschamp suggested that they could either get into an insane asylum or contact the underworld. It turned out, oddly enough, that this was by and large a reasonable assumption.

As a mental hospital search did come up with an interesting result:

“A certain Jacques Traves claimed that he was born in 1741, was left without parents early, worked as a loader in the port, was married, but had no children. Once he drank with friends and suddenly found himself "in the next world" - this is how he perceived our reality. In a conversation with Deschamps, Jacques described in detail the realities of life in the 18th century."

If all this is not a chain of mysterious coincidences or a very cleverly played out hoax, or, for example, a strange case of mental illness, etc., then as a working hypothesis we can accept the version of the "puncture" of the time continuum from the past to the future!

But for the acceptance of the "Time Machine" hypothesis, there is no main thing here - unequivocal evidence that there was an interaction with the past, in which "our" world was previously, and not some other similar to it, the events in which were simply "shifted" in relation to similar events in our world!

Jacques, due to his low education, was not suitable for testifying whether his world exactly corresponded to the actual world of earthly France or did not correspond.

A lot of such cases are known now! But, dear reader, being in themselves an excellent evidence of the complexity of the universe, they do not give an answer to the question of interest to us (an unambiguous answer). Does this mean that there is no way to travel back in time? No, it doesn't!

Astrophysicist Kip Thorne, whose name is known all over the world, gives the following opportunity to implement the "Time Machine". Kip Thorne suggested that we have a "wormhole" at our disposal. Moreover, its "front door" is on the Earth, and the "exit door" is on some movable body, for example, an asteroid or a spaceship. But this body (or ship) is located not far from the Earth.

Now let's imagine that this asteroid (or ship) took off towards the stars. This is where the most curious part begins. Thorne tried to theoretically substantiate the idea of time travel!

His theoretical calculations show that, in principle, it is possible, if not to hunt for Mesozoic dinosaurs, then, at least, upon arrival to see the tail of your own launching ship!

Thus, we arrive at a cyclical model of time travel. But, strictly speaking, it is still not a "Time Machine", because it is not possible to penetrate into the past BEFORE the moment when the described system is activated!

But Kip Thorne has substantiated yet another model that offers a tremendous opportunity for a non-cyclical option! True, there are more than enough difficulties and ambiguities in it (the new theoretical model).

The first difficulty is purely technical. And the point is that in order to move into the past, say, by 1000 years, you will have to first move one of the extremities of the "wormhole" for about a century at a speed comparable to light. But the second reason is considered to be much more serious - the possibility of violation of the principle of causality.

But, be that as it may, theorists are already talking out loud about a possible version of the Time Machine. Well, of course, there are messages of a different kind. For example, the Chita newspaper "Call of Other Worlds" (No. 12, 1996) published a short note on this topic that the aliens share with some "contactees" information regarding the problems of building a "Time Machine" in the desktop version!

Or here: the aliens suggested to the "contactee" from the Moscow region: "The Time Machine" can be created using three frequency generators with a ratio."

You see, reader, how simple it turns out to be - to create a Time Machine! If, it is true, one is uncritical about some newspaper notes! And then to say - how many specialists, so many different points of view regarding this incomprehensible and elusive essence - TIME!

Meanwhile, the number of unexplained cases, where temporary metamorphoses clearly appear, continues to increase. Here's another example on this topic. He was cited by the magazine "World News" (No. 10, 1995). It was in it that an article was cited, where it was reported no more, no less, like the following:

“… in 1990 and 1991, two survivors from the 1912 Titanic were discovered - Captain J. Smith and a young woman, Vinnie Coates. They were in excellent condition and did not age in the years that have passed since the famous shipwreck - the sinking of the Titanic. 79 years after the tragedy, they claimed that it was 1912.

Vinnie Coates was photographed from an iceberg in the North Atlantic on September 24, 1990. She is 29 years old and wore the same clothes when the Titanic went from Great Britain to America.

"It's supernatural," said psychiatrist Jaarle Haaland, one of the 27 doctors and scientists who examined her, "it looks like this woman has been in a temporary distortion for 78 years."

Maritime authorities soon after checking the Titanic's passenger lists confirmed that Mrs W. Coates, England, was in fact aboard the ship.

1991, August 9 - the shocked and unharmed Captain of the Titanic J. Smith was found. He was picked up by the crew of the Larson Napier research vessel.

At the same time, the following statement allegedly followed:

"Captain Smith's identity has been positively identified through his fingerprints on his naval documents and he is doing well …"

How to relate to this, reader !? Of course, the easiest way is to put the magazine aside with a smile. But this is not an option! Yes, in the end, what is contained in the above note that "well, nothing can be"?

Evidence of a spontaneous "throw through time"? But such facts are abundant, the case cited is not completely exceptional! Perhaps, by the way, there are several conceivable options, if not explaining, then at least somehow interpreting the above case. Well, first of all, it's just a newspaper duck! Then, that this is a small hoax on the part of "strangers". Let's say that aliens are training in tossing their agents to us under the guise of such unique incidents! Don't like it, reader? And I don't like it! Then let's think about more interesting possibilities.

First, who can say that no one in the world of stars is experimenting with space and time? And what is scanning, for example, our section of the Galaxy - the most mysterious and mysterious thing that we all try to imagine as a "wormhole"!

And sometimes, neatly, no, no, and even touch our solar system with the very edge. Naturally, we regard the consequences of this phenomenon as an inexplicable miracle (by the way, this is what it is).

Or, at some incomprehensible or even generally unpredictable by our theoretical physicists (they have not yet reached this point), such a "swell" runs through in multidimensional space. And there comes a moment when “windows” and “doors” to other worlds open from this “draft”!

In one of these worlds, the Titanic also embarked on its final voyage. But its captain Smith, as we see, was more fortunate than Captain J. Smith from "our" "Titanic".

Or something else like that! It should be noted that physicists-cosmologists offer more interesting options …
