The crime that took place in Papua New Guinea shocked the world community with its severity: a resident of the country bit and drank the blood of his three-year-old daughter.

On October 9, 2013, a resident of Papua New Guinea, together with her daughter, came to visit the child's father to visit him. According to local authorities, the woman and the girl lived separately from the man.

As soon as the guests entered Rex Eric's house, he rushed to the woman and snatched the three-year-old girl from her hands. Then the father jumped over the fence and hid with the victim in the bushes, where he began to drink the blood of his own daughter.

The shocking sight was witnessed by two boys who had previously climbed a palm tree growing near the bushes. According to eyewitnesses, the man sucked blood and ate the flesh of the child. The presence of the boys caused a strange reaction from the cannibal - he began to laugh, not stopping to torment the body of his victim.

Frightened witnesses to the act of cannibalism descended from the palm tree and rushed into the village, where they told the residents about what they had seen. Several men ran with the boys to the scene of the crime, hoping to save the three-year-old child. However, by the time they appeared, the girl was dead: people found a lifeless body in the bushes. The vampire tried to escape by running towards the Martin Luther Seminary, but the villagers grabbed him and handed him over to the authorities.

“Despite the fact that the investigation into this case is still ongoing, the police have already brought charges of cannibalism and premeditated murder against the detained Rex Eric. We will take special care to investigate this heinous act of cannibalism,”said local councilor John Kenny.

The police believe that the man committed the crime due to being possessed by evil spirits. There is nothing unusual in their words, because the inhabitants of Papua New Guinea believe in magic and practice "witchcraft" rites, the journalist notes.

So, in July last year, the authorities of this country arrested 29 people who killed and ate seven healers. Then the local newspapers wrote that the cannibals cooked soup from the victims' penises. Although cannibalism was criminalized in Papua New Guinea in 1971, incidents of eating people have not stopped.
