More recently (more precisely in the fall of 2017), scientists from the University of Arizona made a similar warning. Scientists, led by Dr. Christina Till, studied the magmatic deposits of the Yellowstone Volcano. With the help of sediments, they found out the cause of the last eruption, which occurred more than 630 thousand years ago. According to the results of the study, the eruption occurred after magma filled the place under the basin of the volcano. The latest study of the volcano indicates that magma is gradually filling the reservoir. The caldera flared up a little and began to swell, which means that the situation has begun to repeat itself since the last eruption. The study participants predict an imminent eruption, but the exact date is not named, indicating a period of up to 10 years.
Researchers at the same University of Arizona warn that the upcoming eruption will be stronger than the past and frightens with emissions of thousands of cubic kilometers. The most favorable calculations predict a nuclear winter in the United States and Canada, but if you believe the rest of the forecasts, then such a fate awaits the entire planet.

Now scientists are proposing to introduce a system of universal monitoring in order to be able to track the behavior of volcanoes. In addition, the researchers want to simulate on a computer all possible variants of global catastrophes and calculate the damage given by them. For all the precautions the authors of the report ask for several billion dollars a year.
