In Maryland, USA, during an operation, doctors found several full-fledged teeth in a baby's brain. This is reported by the British edition of the Daily Star. A four-month-old baby was diagnosed with a rare congenital benign brain tumor called craniopharyngioma. To remove the tumor, the doctors decided to perform an operation. During it, they discovered that the boy had formed teeth in the brain. According to doctors, this is the first such case in history. They do not exclude that the pathology could have been provoked by a tumor. Scientists have long been inclined to believe that it is formed from the same cells as teeth.
However, according to Narlin Beaty, a neurosurgeon at the University of Maryland Medical Center, this would not be possible with a craniopharyngioma. Especially considering that at such a young age, the boy simply could not form teeth. Now the baby is in a stable condition, nothing threatens his health. The teeth extracted from his brain were given to the pathologist for further study. Earlier it was reported that doctors left the child with an abnormally large tumor.
